Happy Canada Day!
Our economy should be democratized for our citizens, not made the plaything of giant and extractive absentee owners.
Politicians who say they love our country should prove it.
It's time to build community wealth.

HAPPY WORLD COMMUNITY LAND TRUST DAY!
Started by Black American farmers, CLTs are now core to Community Wealth Building globally, providing PERMANENT affordable housing and local economic democracy.
The CLT movement is rapidly expanding across Canada.
With much more to come.

We were thrilled Avi directly supported Community Wealth Building in his campaign.
We hope this leads to a stronger push for CWB in Canada at a time when it is needed more than ever.

We're especially glad see Avi's bold platform includes two of our top federal priorities since we started in 2021: a Right of First Refusal for workers and a National Worker Ownership Fund!

Great to see @avilewis, whom we've endorsed, covering Community Land Trusts.
CLTs have become core to building community wealth.
They bring local economic democracy and *permanent* affordable housing together.
And they work from Toronto to Whitehorse. 👍

Scotland has passed the first national community wealth building legislation.
We've pushed for a Canadian federal CWB agenda long before Trump attacked our sovereignty.
Now more than ever, Canada should be building robust community wealth coast to coast.
