Gold is back above $4,000 this morning.
Spot was trading near $4,015 as London opened, after dipping to about $3,978 in Asia.
Last night I said a reclaim of $4,000 would weaken the bearish case. But a reclaim is not a hold.
What I'm watching today:
• $4,000: has to act as support on any dip
• Friday's high near $4,034: first real test above
• Asian low near $3,978: lose it and sellers are back in charge
The US calendar is quiet today. The Fed decides Wednesday at 7 PM Lagos time, so expect positioning, not conviction.

Spot gold ended Friday just under $4,000.
First time below that level since mid-July, after its worst week since June. Futures are now about 25% off January's record high.

$4,000 held as support for three months. Now price sits under it.
Old support often gets retested from below. A rejection there keeps sellers in control.
A clean reclaim and hold back above $4,000 would weaken the bearish case.
