CAF needs to expand the Champions League to 32 teams from 2027/28.
My proposal:
• Keep the Confed Cup at 16
• Increase Champions League slots for the top 12 leagues
• Automatic qualification for clubs from the top 6 leagues
More clubs. More big games. Better competition.

Temwa Chawinga is the first African woman to make the top 10 of the Women’s Ballon D’or.
No African woman has finished higher than 12th before. Zambia’s Barbra Banda set the previous high-water mark with 12th place in 2024 and 14th in 2025. Temwa herself finished 17th in her first nomination last year. Her older sister Tabitha (now at Lyon) finished 16th in 2024.
