Pope Leo XIV is travelling to Latin America for a visit that takes in Uruguay and Argentina before he returns to Peru.
It is set to be a major moment with particular significance for Indigidenous Peoples as our Head of Region for Latin America explains.

ALT A photo of CAFOD's Head of Region for Latin America, Diana Trimino, with a quote. It says: "This apostolic journey is momentous for the Catholic community in South America, especially for those in Peru where Pope Leo spent nearly two decades of his ministry. The Holy Father’s visit also has special significance for Indigenous Peoples, who regularly face threats and intimidation when protecting their ancestral lands. By hosting his first-ever papal Mass in the Amazon, Leo XIV will continue the work of Pope Francis, in championing vulnerable communities across the region whose lives have been marred by violence and environmental degradation. To protect the Amazon is to protect the life of all."

Dear friends, during some recent medical examinations, the doctors found a small, localized nodule in my lung. It was detected at a very early stage and is well-localized. The doctors believe that it is best to intervene, so, following their advice, I have decided to undergo surgery to remove it. The operation is already scheduled to take place in the coming days. I thank you for your spiritual closeness and entrust myself to your prayers.
A wonderful day supporting #Adoremus at St George’s Cathedral and Westminster Cathedral. My wonderful colleagues by the @CAFOD Stand this morning greeting the pilgrims from across the UK.

Harvest is a time to give thanks to God for the gifts of creation and for the food that sustains us.
While we celebrate the food we have, we remember our sisters and brothers around the world who do not have enough.

Tayla's education was interrupted by a lack of water. Our local partners in Zimbabwe worked with the community to build a solar-powered pump. Now, the impact goes beyond a reliable, safe water source. Find out more and donate this Harvest. ⤵️ cafod.org.uk/give/appeals/fa…
