Today marks 18 years since Michael Crichton’s passing.
Michael had a rare gift for seeing what was coming. He wrote about genetic engineering in Jurassic Park, artificial intelligence in Westworld, nanotechnology in Prey, the patenting of human genes in Next, and an emergency care system stretched to its breaking point in his revolutionary series ER, often years before the rest of the world caught up. Today his work still turns up in conversations about the very technologies he imagined, from research labs to newsrooms.
Through all of it, he was a writer first. He followed his curiosity wherever it led and turned it into stories that readers are still discovering.
The legend lives on.

Reading post after post about how Anakin Skywalker and Paul Atreides are the heroes of their stories and people will still deny that media literacy (and basic literacy) is dying! 😵💫
