In 1988, the Callaway Sledgehammer Corvette hit 254.76 mph in Ohio, driven by John Lingenfelter. At a time when the Ferrari F40 did 201 mph and the Porsche 959 197 mph, a tiny Connecticut team of just nine people built the fastest road-going car in the world. In 2021, the original Sledgehammer appeared on Bring a Trailer, reaching $500,000 without meeting reserve.

Before the Bugatti Veyron, the 1988 Callaway Sledgehammer Corvette stunned the world by reaching 254.76 mph. Powered by an 898-hp twin-turbo V8, it held the title as the fastest production-based street-legal car of its era.

The 2021 GT3 Season is officially in the books. It was a mixed season for the Callaway Competition squad. A victory at the Red Bull Ring & several podiums highlighted the season. Despite a difficult latter half (due to gremlins from a Lausitzring fire), the squad never gave up!
