Great to finally talk about my thesis research and share some of the findings beyond the classroom today. Fantastic, friendly and supportive conference as always, and lots to think about and reflect on for the journey back north. #juswac2024

Well, that's a wrap on #ECSWR2024 What an incredibly experience it has been. So much learning, sharing, thinking, and making connections over mutual interests. Day two included interest in our Buddying scheme from many more European countries, and Oman, USA and Australia!

There has been lots of interest in our poster today! The impact of our BA Buddy scheme is now spreading across Europe to Germany, Sweden, Finland, the Netherlands as well as within the UK. @DrDianeSimpson @kristyregan13 @PhilipW53150514 @SunderlandUniSW

On leave today exploring Vilnius before ECSWR kicks off fully tomorrow. And the sun came out in stark contrast to yesterday's freezing rain

Checked in and ready to head to Vilnius for ECSWR to present our findings on social work student peer mentoring. Exciting times! @DrDianeSimpson @kristyregan13 @PhilipW53150514

Today we welcomed some of our applicants onto campus and used @lemnsissay's fantastic 'My Name is Why' to help them reflect on why they wanted to become social workers. Great group, brilliant session. We can't wait to welcome them all back in September. @SunderlandUniSW

It's been wonderful to have our hard work and dedication to our students recognised this week. I couldn't be prouder to be part of such an incredible team 👏 What a way to end the semester!

Big day today... I graduated from my DSW. Now if only Dundee did floppy hats so I could really feel like a Dr!

My thesis on the experiences of social workers involved in pre-birth assessment work is now available online. There is a real sense of vulnerability in sharing it in it's raw form. Alas, what's the point of research if noone reads it! discovery.dundee.ac.uk/en/st…

Whilst in the middle of nowhere, in a winery in Albania, I got the news that I am officially Dr Bleasby! What a place to celebrate four and a half years of hard work finally paying off.

Today we had some of our final year students back onto campus for one last time. I can't believe that it has been three years already as it feels like you all started just yesterday. Well done, BA Social Work class of 2023! @SunderlandUniSW

So proud today to be representing the University, the social work course and our Buddying Scheme at #jucswc2023 with one of our fantastic mentors Rachael in person @SunderlandUniSW @DrDianeSimpson

I am still looking to recruit a few more social workers to take part in my Doctoral research. If you, or anyone you know might be interested in taking part, there is a very short form to complete to register your interest here: forms.office.com/r/BdqbE5BPH… or you can send me an email.

What a fantastic two days we have had on campus - Welcoming the Level 4 BA students to the programme, and welcoming the Level 5 BA students back. What a creative bunch our first years are! Only our final year students left to welcome back this Friday. @SunderlandUniSW

Thank you @ludovicoeinaud for being my top-streamed Artist of the Decade! You've got me though so much Doctorate work, marking, chilling, cooking... And just general existing. Thank you! #SpotifyWrapped open.spotify.com/wrapped/sha…

Half way through the first residential of the #uodprofdoc. Lots of new things to think about, and new perspectives to take. In 4 years time, hopefully we can have a picture like this, but in our graduation robes!
