🚑Ambulance services play a crucial role in end of life experience. However until recently there has been little research in this area.
📢Join us at 1:30pm to hear about the experiences of paramedics providing EOLC & the complex issues they face.

Really pleased to see EOLC PGDs taking off: an essential safety net when dying occurs without prior planning
Have audited @OFFICIALIOWAS use of PGD for 3 yrs now. Main finding is paramedics have the communication skills, clinical judgment and compassion to use to excellent effect

Myself and colleagues in the @EEAST_UrgCare with the @EastEnglandAmb have recently had the green light to carry Midazolam, Hyoscine, Haloperidol, Glycopyrronium and Levomepromazine under PGD for rapid accessibility to those unanticipated, dying patients.

Paramedics have a revered public identity, shaped by a perceived ability to fix a crisis. However, a dichotomy exists regarding their role as a lifesaver and community responder. #hpm #hapc buff.ly/3YgigrP
