DISCLAIMER: On 25 March 2026, the Referendum Party merged into Freedom Front Plus (VF Plus) to advance its core mission: Cape Independence and the realisation of self-determination through a united political vehicle, supported by a cooperation agreement with the Cape Independence Advocacy Group (CIAG). The VF Plus already maintains established social media platforms at both national and Western Cape level (@VFPlus), making the continued use of the Referendum Party’s accounts unnecessary within the party structure. Accordingly, rather than allowing these platforms to go inactive, the Referendum Party has formally donated its social media accounts to a new initiative: Cape First. Cape First is a grassroots-driven project focused on expanding awareness of self-determination in the Cape as a response to the growing challenges we face. It will complement the work of existing organisations while filling a critical gap in the movement. These pages will now be rebranded and operated under Cape First going forward.

IMPORTANT REMINDER FOR TOMORROW'S VOTING ! 🗳️🚨 1. Make sure the IEC official stamps both ballot papers on the back, ideally in front of you, before you cast your vote. 2. Check the IEC website beforehand to confirm which voting station you are registered to vote at: elections.org.za/pw/voter/vo… 3. Bring your South African Smart ID, green barcoded ID book or valid Temporary Identity Certificate. A driver's licence or passport is not sufficient. ✅Remember a vote for a small party that shares your values is not wasted !

🚨 THE CAPE IS OUR HOME. OUR FUTURE MATTERS. Mass inward migration is changing the character of our communities, placing pressure on housing, services and infrastructure. We refuse to accept demographic transformation as inevitable. On 4 November, vote for a party that will put the Cape FIRST.

🗳️ LESS THAN A WEEK TO GO! On 4 November, voters across the Western Cape head to the polls. For those who support Cape Independence and the right to self-determination, CIAG recommends two parties: the Freedom Front Plus and the Cape Independence Party. Read our reasoning 👇

🚨 DON'T LET THE MYTH OF A "SPLIT VOTE" SILENCE YOUR VOICE! On Cape Town's party ballot, a vote for a smaller party counts towards THAT party's representation, not the ANC or EFF. If a referendum on Cape Independence matters to you, vote @capexitparty or @VFPlusWesKaap!

🚨 "LAND INVASIONS ARE CHANGING THE FACE OF THE CAPE!" Ratepayers are being forced to subsidise the consequences of unsustainable migration, placing increasing strain on housing, infrastructure, and public services. It's time to put the Cape First.

South Africans were told that 1994 would mean the end of race laws. Instead they have been accelerated. This is anti-white discrimination, plain and simple. The Cape didn't vote for this. The Cape doesn't benefit from this. The Cape deserves a non-racial future.

We built the Cape. We will not allow you to create another Zimbabwe here.

Was it right for Glen Snyman to be accused of fraud? A country that claims to have moved beyond apartheid should not be policing the racial identities of its own citizens. Glen Snyman was subjected to disciplinary proceedings after identifying as African rather than Coloured on a job application. Thirty years into democracy, why are we still allowing racial categories to dictate how people are treated? We cannot build a truly non-racial society while the state continues to divide by race.

🚨 WE SHOULDN’T HAVE TO LIVE LIKE THIS 16 people were Murdered across Cape Town last weekend. The Cape deserves a Police Service that is accountable to the people it serves. 30 years of ANC-run SAPS have turned parts of Cape Town into a War Zone. The answer is simple: Devolve Policing Powers. It’s time the Cape be given the Power to Protect its own People.

The Western Cape Coloured community has suffered just as much as everyone else under the ANC’s Race Laws. As Con Court Judge Nugent put it himself: "In the Western Cape nine of each 100 opportunities are made accessible to some 2.8 million Coloured people while 1.9 million Black African people have access to 73."

This Heritage Day is NOT a day for celebration. Whether it is the renaming of OUR towns, forced language changes in OUR schools, or racially discriminatory policies that seek to drive certain communities out of the country, the South African regime is NOT respecting our heritage. We will not surrender what our forebears built. Only self-determination will give OUR communities the power to take control of their own future.

🚨Did you know: Vandalised Electricity Infrastructure cost Ratepayers R75M? Rising Land Invasions and a failed SAPS leave Ratepayers paying the bill. The City of Cape Town spent approximately R75 million in 2025/26 repairing and replacing Electricity infrastructure damaged by theft, vandalism and illegal connections. "When infrastructure is vandalised, ratepayers pay twice: once for the infrastructure, and again to repair it"

We are Cape First, a Civic Movement committed to advancing the political, economic and cultural self-determination of the peoples of the Cape. We believe that the decisions which affect the Cape should be made as close to its people as possible. Policing, taxation, education, economic policy and land administration requires greater decentralisation for the Cape to maintain its right of self-determination. Our vision is that of a Cape that is safe, prosperous, self-governing and culturally confident. Where the rule of law is upheld, property rights are protected, communities have greater autonomy, and enterprise and investment create opportunities for ordinary people. We believe in a Non-Racial civic future that respects the Cape’s diverse communities, protects its cultural and linguistic heritage, and gives its people a greater say over our own future. This is not the end of the conversation. It is only the beginning. Follow this page to keep up to date with Cape First, learn more about our work, and get involved. If you would like to contribute or have any questions, please feel free to send us a Direct Message.
