Kane’s notes for each weekend:
1. Find out what time Carlton play.
2. Take pot shot at Tex and/or Adelaide.
3. Don’t watch footy and write article/think of ideas to criticize Carlton.
4. Check Carlton result.
5. If Carlton win, save for next weekend and repeat.
Not that Cripps deserved 45 in 2024… but I think Peter has earned Nick an extra 20 this year by getting the rules changed.
Geelong well placed for another prelim. Tough game next week, but they won’t be overawed. Big game players stood up in a big final, as they normally do. A hit out for Holmes, finals experience for Polkinghorne and Wiltshire and of course, well coached and the system works.
I am glad we still tried to play the same way we’ve played all year under Fraser which got us here, but we saw in the Hawks game it doesn’t stack up for four quarters. We reverted to a bit of Voss ball, trying for territory, but just ran out of legs and execution was off.
Geelong have all 27 of St. Kilda’s entire fanbase cheering for them and tweeting like they’ve won is definitely something.. sit this one out Saints, sorry new Cats fans. Playing finals isn’t for everyone.
Grueling run in, extra game, ran out of legs and the rub of the green didn’t go our way tonight. Geelong well coached. And deserved to win.
Lewis Young with strapping on his knee and Harry McKay has raided the rest of the entire budget for strapping on his leg.
The whistle the Hawks are getting and the non-whistle they’re also getting in their favour is on another level tonight. This is absolutely outrageous.
No Hayward for the Blues tomorrow night. Makes the game a lot closer for Geelong. Blues by 15 instead of 30.
Seeing Michael Voss previewing Carlton’s elimination final against Geelong for Fox Footy is so rough.
He recruited that list, developed them for 5 years. Sacked mid year and now 4 months later he’s the one being asked how they’ll go in September.
Fraser’s obviously done a tremendous job. But it’s still Voss’s AFL team out there.
Collingwood fans are taking Carlton playing this weekend and them being eliminated well... they're all in on Geelong and watching Max Holmes train to see if he'll play.
