Boston’s so iconic for racism we star in concert montage history of hate with apartheid in South Africa, genocide in Gaza, assassination of MLK, British starvation, tyranny, colonial violence in Ireland. Only city name checked—but hey, we don’t hurl rocks at school buses anymore!

Moshe Feiglin, who said it’s “100%” Israel’s goal to wipe out Gaza + annex the West Bank, said every baby in Gaza is an enemy (not just Hamas) — was just elected to the Knesset. @DanaBashCNN @jaketapper Here’s are some others making 🇮🇱 intentions clear: xitter.cf/muhammadshehad2/status…
Meet Israel's new Knesset members🧵 Moshe Feiglin: "As Hitler said, ‘I cannot live if one Jew is left.’ We can’t live here if one ‘Islamo-Nazi’ remains in Gaza" "Every child, every baby in Gaza is an enemy"

“Muslim women have more rights in Israel than in basically any Muslim country” Israel ranks 84th on women’s status, tied with Kyrgyzstan, behind the UAE, Bahrain, Oman, Bosnia, Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, Albania, Kuwait, Qatar, Kazakhstan, Maldives, Kosovo. Women vote and hold office across most of the Muslim world, and Pakistan, Bangladesh, Indonesia and Turkey have all had Muslim female heads of government. Inside Israel, Muslim women face systemic racism and legal inequality, like the 2018 Nation-State Law and limits on bringing in Palestinian spouses. Millions of Palestinian women under Israeli rule in the West Bank and Gaza can’t vote at all in Israeli elections. And in just three years Israel slaughtered more than 38,000 women and girls in Gaza and left 12,000 permanently disabled. There is no place on earth where it’s less safe to be a Muslim woman than Israel and the places Israel dominates.
Muslim women in burqas voting in the Israeli elections today. Muslim women have more rights in Israel than in basically any Muslim country.

Watch this. Lubna Speitan, author of the Greens4Palestine motion “Zionism is racism”, spells out the central obscenity of our age – the grotesque inversion whereby the victims of ethnic cleansing, Apartheid and genocide must constantly fend off accusations from their tormentors that it is they who are the racists. “We as Palestinians are being silenced and gaslit and vilified [as we] witness the annihilation, the cold-blooded murder of our families, of our people… our children burnt with phosphorus, having to endure amputations with no anaesthetic, having their limbs torn and shredded, their bodies burnt by phosphorus, being starved to death … And to have to sit here … and try to bury my feelings so I can eloquently and diplomatically shield my anger, my rage, my anguish that every Palestinian is feeling, is an insult.” /1

A reminder that at the New York mayoral debate, a city election in America, all of the candidates were asked where they'd go abroad to first and they said Israel and only Zohran Mamdani said he'd stay at home in NYC. So, remind me again: who are the ones 'obsessed with Israel?
NYT's Bret Stephens whines that Democrats know "Smotrich and Ben-Gvir" but not "the interior minister of Japan." Their "obsession" with Israel drives him "crazy." (Being politically informed on Israel is now anti-Semitic.)

For the first time, we're hearing about previously undisclosed connections between Palantir and some of America's biggest health insurers: Aetna, Humana, Cigna and Blue Shield of California. A new report from the Center for Health & Democracy Education Fund examines documents obtained by the Electronic Frontier Foundation that claim Palantir's technology is already being used by insurers for functions including "decision support." Fascinating that BBC was able to hop across the Atlantic and immediately find a voter with a representative viewpoint that will probably be the key to understanding this election. I wonder why US news stations can only find people with strong opinions about Hasan Piker
"Do you worry [Abdul El-Sayed] is a bit too left wing to win in Michigan?" Michigan voter "At this point what do we have to worry about? Anything but what we have. We're on our way to hell so at this point socialist, socialise, social, dont matter to me, lower my cost of living"

It's good to see Obama say this. But he also said the same thing to me 20 years ago when I interviewed him for The Nation. After he said that, he justified his reversal on Medicare For All by saying he worried it would mean fewer people employed by health insurance companies.
OBAMA: What is radical about that wanting everybody to have healthcare. How's that radical?

Matt Yglesias says people in Minneapolis shouldn't have risen up against ICE. This worldview is not just cruel and amoral -- it's also deeply divorced from how political change happens. It’s kindergarten-level magical thinking, dressed up as hardnosed realism.
Me: "Even if it was unpopular, are you saying the Democratic Party should not speak out against the president sending migrants who have committed no crimes to be tortured in a foreign gulag?" @mattyglesias: "Yeah." Me: "Just stay silent?" Yglesias: "I think that sometimes, if you want to help people... you gotta win first." Me: "They might be dead in three years time, by the time you win." Despite all the arguments on this hellsite over the exact number of his Piker tweets, this was the part of my interview with Matthew Yglesias that really stood out to me. I was actually stunned by this response. Shouldn't politics also stand for something more than triangulation, polling and 4-D chess strategizing? Full interview: zeteo.com/p/matt-yglesias-me…

If they pass any legislation while hes in office and he veto's it. That means if we get a dem president next they'll have no excuse not to do it. Dems are ALWAYS telling you they hate you but its veiled under "this is the most important election of our lives" 🤣🤣🫵🏾🫵🏾

Yeah, God forbid the Democrats actually pass something through both houses of congress and make a Republican president hold the bag for why popular legislation cannot get passed. These people are incapable of doing politics.

The people in the Biden admin who aided, abetted, and covered up a genocide are changing their tune, probably because they know that their past actions could endanger thier ability to serve in future Dmeocratic administrations given where the base is. nytimes.com/2026/10/23/opini…

They are going to try to resurrect the Obama era of Dem politics, with zero acknowledgement that their faction’s “big tent” corporatism/anti-populism created the conditions for Trump. They wanna run this loop over and over again, even if it creates another Trump. It’s amazing.
.@AJentleson discusses how Democrats can learn from Barack Obama's method of creating a widespread & inviting coalition.

The centrist cul-de-sac: stay silent on tough issues to win, but once you win you have to keep staying silent so as not to endanger front line candidates. Or you could have the courage to offer an actually compelling governing agenda, build support for it, and then do it.

New scorched-earth standards in response to the targeting of soldiers enforcing colonial occupation, shifting from illegal house demolitions to the destruction of entire neighbourhoods.
⚡️ Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu vowed to demolish an entire Hebron neighborhood, expel its residents and build "more and more settlements" after two Israeli soldiers were killed in a shooting near the illegally occupied West Bank city on Friday. Two Palestinian gunmen opened fire at a junction outside Hebron, killing a staff sergeant and a sergeant, before Israeli forces killed them. Palestinian media identified them as Hamouda Jaaba and Firas Jaaba, both 27, from Hebron. Netanyahu blamed Hamas but offered no evidence beyond ammunition the army said it found in their car. "Our first step will be to demolish this site and completely transform it," Netanyahu said, adding Israel is "building and arranging over 100 new settlements." Israeli forces sealed off Hebron, the largest city in the West Bank, and arrested dozens as Netanyahu ordered preparations for a full closure of the entire West Bank – applying to Palestinians only, with Israeli roads staying open to settlers. The news comes just five days before Israel's elections, with Netanyahu trailing in the polls.

This is BS:”Former NYC Mayor de Blasio faced massive resistance when he tried to cap city’s charter schools in 2014, & he ultimately backed off. Mayor Mamdani hasn’t even tried—although he campaigned against charter expansion.” He hasn’t tried because there’s already a cap.
