Preach to your own soul rather than just listening to it. Verse 5 is the psalmist talking to himself, commanding his own despair to hope in God. That's a pattern for anyone in a dry season: don't just feel what you feel, speak truth back to yourself.

And notice the thirst itself is a sign of life, not failure. A soul that aches for God, even in silence, is still oriented toward Him. That longing is itself a kind of answered prayer waiting to be fulfilled.
