It was a privilege talking to @kilmeade of @FoxNews about why Trump has been piling pressure on Ukraine/Zelensky ahead of a hoped-for summit meeting with Putin in Miami in mid-December--and why the White House's strategy simply won't work. youtu.be/e9xHkOepUCs?t=2106

Winter is coming for Ukraine. The U.S.-Russia diesel deal and Starlink disruptions add to the pressure, but Senior Fellow Eric Ciaramella argues there’s an opening: coordinated pressure on Russian launchers and arms plants may bring an aerial ceasefire. foreignaffairs.com/guest-pas…

🆕 | Funding Ukraine remains a priority for European leaders, say Vladyslav Rashkovan and Gregory P. Wilson.
As Russia’s war of aggression heads into another winter, two feasible options to mobilize support for Kyiv should be fast-tracked.

Ukraine sees President Trump's diesel deal with Russia as a betrayal. And will it even meaningfully impact soaring gas prices in the U.S.?

Tomorrow I'll be talking about a new book, the Russian elite, and the economy right here with brilliant @maxseddon. Don't miss!
When Russia invaded Ukraine in February 2022, many in the West expected the country's elite to stop the war. Why didn't they? @amenka talks to @maxseddon about her new book on precisely this issue tomorrow at 11 am EDT / 5 pm CEST on our YouTube channel: carnegieendowment.org/events…

Подробнее: praguebooktower.cz/

New article with Greg Whisler. We lay out how the Russian force expanded during the war leading to a paradox: as the quantity grew, its ability to employ force at scale decreased. As Moscow fielded more forces, the value of that mass steadily diminished. warontherocks.com/a-return-t…

Happy to join @mkimmage to discuss the Russian military, from a practitioner’s perspective working in the Pentagon and think tank space. Topics span the 90s freefall, 2000s recovery, and how Putin confidently misunderstands military power. Timestamps and topics ⬇️

The way of war is changing, as shown by conflicts in Ukraine and Iran. Are the hundreds of billions of dollars being invested today in new tanks, planes and warships going to become the equivalent of buying horses and arrows on the eve of machine guns and howitzers? While Ukraine is doing well across much of the front line, on missile defense the trend is negative. Russia is using more ballistic missiles, they are getting more out of those capabilities, and the number of interceptors being provided to Ukraine is not tangibly increasing.
