Dudes rock
On Friday I noticed a large plastic water bottle in our car.
My husband must have bought it while out on a brief errand a few hours earlier...
I commented on it to him and THAT's how I learned he was part of a team of people who helped to stop a local neighborhood fire.
Whatâs my NFL IQ? Just saw the name âJ. Loveâ pop up on the screen and thought we were about to see Jennifer Love Hewitt come on for some commentary.
You know you have a people pleaser problem when you automatically respond, âOK, thank youâ to the driver who almost ran over you and your baby at the crosswalk.
Our Lady of Fatima, we beg your protection of our Holy Father.
The Holy See Press Office on Tuesday evening released a statement about Pope Leoâs surgery stating: âThe intraoperative frozen-section examination confirmed the diagnosis of pulmonary adenocarcinoma [a type of non-small cell lung cancer], as suspected from the preoperative tests.â
The statement also said âthe Holy Father was in the operating room for approximately three hours; the operation itself lasted approximately 90 minutes. The operation was successful, and there were no complications.â
âFollowing the operation, the pope awoke normally and, after a brief period of observation, returned to his room on the 10th floor.â

Big news!! â€ïžâ€ïž Please join us in prayers for @UrsulaMurua as she takes on this new role!
EWTN Global Catholic Network on Friday named Ursula Murua, a longtime leader of digital strategy, as the next president of EWTN News, effective Nov. 1.
Murua, a native of Peru who is director of digital strategy and social media for EWTN News, succeeds Montse Alvarado, president and chief operating officer of EWTN News since 2023, whom Pope Leo XIV appointed in June as prefect of the Vaticanâs Dicastery for Communication. Alvarado takes up the Vatican post the same day.
Muruaâs path into journalism is linked to EWTNâs foundress. When Mother Angelica visited Peru, she gave a talk that Murua, then 20, covered for the then-fledgling ACI Prensa, EWTN Chairman of the Board and CEO Michael P. Warsaw told staff in a message announcing the appointment.
âMother could not have known that one of the young women listening to her would someday help take that same message around the world and eventually be entrusted with leading one of the divisions of the apostolate she founded,â Warsaw wrote. âIn many ways, it feels designed by Providence.â
Muruaâs career in Catholic media spans more than 30 years and predates EWTNâs acquisition of ACI Prensa. At EWTN, she has held leadership roles across digital, editorial, and broadcast operations, including on the team of âEWTN Noticias,â the networkâs flagship Spanish-language nightly newscast.
She played a central role in launching the networkâs social media presence and has led digital coverage of three papal conclaves, multiple World Youth Days and jubilees, International Eucharistic Congresses, and Synods of Bishops.
âUrsula understands both the mission of EWTN and the rapidly changing ways people encounter news, faith, and one another,â Warsaw said in a statement. âShe has helped shape the digital transformation of EWTN News from within while remaining deeply committed to the truth of the Gospel and the teachings of the Church.â
In a first comment on her appointment, Murua said: "I have had the extraordinary privilege of watching Catholic media transform from radio and broadcast to websites, social media and mobile platforms, and now confront the challenge and promise of artificial intelligence.â
âBut the reason we do this work has never changed. People are hungry for truth, for meaning, and ultimately for Christ. Our responsibility is to understand where they are, how they are searching, and how we can faithfully meet them there.â
Speaking of her successor, Alvarado noted Murua, in her role as president of EWTN News, will âcontinue the work we began together, expanding EWTN Newsâ digital presence and developing new ways to reach audiences while strengthening our commitment to journalism rooted in fidelity to the Gospel.â

A little glimpse into this postpartum season:
I was feeling especially tired.
And with my husband home, I had the opportunity for a nap and I took it.
And when I awoke, I felt so refreshed. Rejuvenated. Exactly the boost I needed.
How long was said nap for?
Seven minutes.
âThĂ©rĂšse feared Pranzini being lost for all eternityâŠshe began to offer the âinfinite merits of Our Savior and the treasures of the Holy Churchâ for his salvation.â

BLESSED Fulton Sheen, pray for us!
My grandmother credited her Catholic conversion to Sheen. Sheâd watch his programs in the 1950âs and became convinced that what he was preaching was TRUE.
Sheen has had a lasting impact on generations of my familyâs faith life. đ€
As much as my heart aches to not be in St. Louis for Abp. Fulton Sheenâs beatification, what a gift that @EWTN is providing complete live coverage. It genuinely feels like I can participate!
@LilaGraceRose, @MattBunson, & @FrAquinasOP are doing a beautiful job hosting coverage!
For our beatification viewing party, we made Fulton Sheenâs meatloaf recipe and I can confirm it is delicious.
St. ThĂ©rĂšse novena begins today. â€ïž
O Little ThérÚse of the Child Jesus, please pick for me a rose from the heavenly gardens and send it to me as a message of love.
O Little Flower of Jesus, ask God to grant the favors I now place with confidence in your handsâŠ
St. ThĂ©rĂšse, help me to always believe as you did in Godâs great love for me, so that I might imitate your âLittle Wayâ each day.
Amen.
Planning a Fulton Sheen beatification watch party with my family. So far, the menu includes Sheenâs meatloaf recipe, El Paso salsa and chips (to honor his birthplace). Any other recommendations?
