#MicheleTadini is the new Artistic Director of the #BiennaleMusica for the two-year term 2027-2028. “Over a lifetime of work, learning, research, hypotheses, definitions, order and disorder, every composer/researcher asks questions about music, its reasons, its necessities. Seeking answers, they search their souls, and form convictions about what to do and what to say. I have now been entrusted to give concrete shape to these thoughts. In addition to gratitude, I feel a deep sense of responsibility. What I will say and do will not only be an expression of what I believe is important, it must also be important for the public and for music itself” → bit.ly/3Us8mpj

We bid a deeply moving farewell to #FabrizioPlessi (1940–2026), one of the leading figures in Italian and international contemporary art, whose artistic journey was intertwined with #LaBiennaleDiVenezia for more than fifty years. He took part on numerous occasions in both the #BiennaleArte and the #BiennaleCinema. A pioneer of Italian video art, he made water, matter and technology the defining elements of a visionary practice – one that not only accompanied, but often anticipated the transformations of contemporary artistic language. We remember him with his photograph from the #BiennaleArte2005, where he presented his “Mare Verticale” → bit.ly/4c6VB9q

Disney’s Fantasia (1940) originally included this fully animated and orchestrated “Clair De Lune” sequence following two herons gliding through the Everglades under moonlight.
The piece was finished, fully painted and orchestrated, but removed late in production to bring the film’s long runtime down.

Amidst the noise and drama of Venice’s #Biennale the Scalzi garden of the Carmelitani is one of the few shows in town to embrace tranquility, peace & deep listening as suggested by late curator Koyo Kouoh. Appropriate for a contemplative order.

#WillemDafoe will be the Artistic Director of the #BiennaleTeatro for the years 2027 and 2028. “These past two years of close involvement with #LaBiennaleDiVenezia – stated Dafoe – have allowed me to explore what is the power and magic of the total art that is theatre. I am honoured to continue my work with La Biennale’s President, #PietrangeloButtafuoco, with the entire devoted team of La Biennale di Venezia and with #ValentinaAlferj and #AndreaPorcheddu, building on the foundations laid over these first two years. A passionate exploration in which theatre making begins with a creative impulse and may not have an explicit goal, but is fully engaged and never loses sight of the conviction that it is the collective experience that matters” → bit.ly/44lxKhN
