'I never thought leopards would eat MY face,' sobs woman who voted for the Leopards Eating People's Faces Party.
once again, the leopards-eating-people's-faces meme is not
'I recklessly / naively / foolishly enabled something that hurt me!'
it is
'I enabled something that I knowingly expected to hurt other people, and it hurt ME!'
Around this time of year you often see the 'fun fact' that eye of newt was really an old name for mustard seed, and moreover all the Macbeth witchy ingredients were code names for plants and herbs.
This 'fun fact' isn't a fact. It's an engineered myth.

Amazed at how often people try to use the leopard meme and completely misunderstand it. It's about enabling harsh or draconian things to happen to 'other people' and realising you've brought them on yourself, because your division into 'me' and 'them' is fatuous to the oppressor.
please note that the word that is emphasised here is 'MY'.
for the leopard meme to be applicable, a person must have known and expected a particular outcome to happen, just not to THEM
'people' is implicitly understood to have meant 'those other people' rather than 'me'

"Conservatism consists of exactly one proposition, to wit: There must be in-groups whom the law protects but does not bind, alongside out-groups whom the law binds but does not protect. There is nothing more or else to it, and there never has been, in any place or time."

🌌[ROLE ANNOUNCEMENT]🌌
I'm so very excited to announce I voice "The Hunra" in @PlayWarframe's new region, playing main antagonist versus the illustrious Matthew Mercer's Brysko!
I watched the Tennocon trailer drop live and had NO idea. Matt has been a VO inspiration for me ever since I played Fire Emblem: Awakening and getting to voice alongside him is so unbelievable. I'm very blessed!
Thank you so much to my agents and to the DE team!

Goodchild played by the late Robert Eddison, instantly recognizable as the Grail Knight from Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. 'You have chosen... wisely.'
'Here we have anathema, alien and evil. Here we have strangeness, unwelcome and unknown. Here we have disease, blastocystic and obscene, spreading its contagion from the diaspora of beyond.'
This was an actual line, delivered around 5pm to an audience of school-age kids.
