Great thread on managing your work and mental health during challenging times. See #4 for example: “give yourself a proper mental adjustment window. The first few days in a disaster zone are always a write-off." Just realized I had to do this for myself and it was quite helpful.
Academic peeps: I've lived through many disasters. Here is my advice on "productivity". First, play the long game. Your peers who are trying to work as normal right now are going to burn out fast. They're doomed. Make a plan with a longer vision. /1

Some thoughts about #COVID19- it underscores the importance of #PublicHealth, public healthcare systems, and how a disease half way around the world can become a problem at home very quickly.

Six months from now we will know if all the changes being enacted to counter #Covid19 will have been worth it. Right now stick to the basics-listen to public health, wash your hands, stay home if you are sick, help those who run into problems and be kind to each other.
