🔥 Prescribed Fire Update – Ochoco National Forest HEJ Unit 10
Ignitions are complete on today’s planned 352‑acre HEJ Unit 10 prescribed burn northwest of Big Summit Prairie.
🔥Firefighters completed ignitions on 170 acres of Junction 6 Prescribed Burn & don’t plan to conduct ignitions tomorrow. Residents along Deschutes River corridor (La Pine, Sunriver & Bend) are encouraged to keep windows closed to minimize smoke impacts overnight & early morning.

🔥Test Fire is favorable on the Junction 6 Prescribed Burn on the @DesNatlForest 6 miles NW of Sunriver and 16 miles SW of Bend near Wanoga Butte. Firefighters plan to conduct up to 332 acres of ignitions. Smoke will be visible from Sunriver, Bend and the surrounding area.

🔥 This afternoon, firefighters on the Ochoco National Forest completed ignition of prescribed burn HEJ Unit 13, totaling 487 acres.
Over the past three days, fire personnel have successfully completed 1,931 acres of prescribed burning on the Ochoco National Forest.
On Thurs. (10/1), the @DesNatlForestplans to conduct up to 42 acres of prescribed burn ignitions 9 miles SW of Crescent & 1 mile S of Two Rivers subdivision between Forest Service Road (FSR) 5830 & FSR 5835-400.
