We've been reworking the Amityvale we made last year to better fit the new directive of the game. Here's a quick preview of the work in progress for what you can expect from this new questing area set to release before the finale of the Wandering Light Saga. #AQ3D

So. I think it's about time you guys see Mortis. The way I've been writing the DoomWeapons since the Pirate vs Ninja War is that they are entities from the Plane of Darkness that cannot interact in our world directly; they influence others to do their bidding, and one of their main methods is possessing an object (Like a weapon) and corrupting those around it slowly. Mortis, I think, is the first time I've given an exact name to one of these entities, but the other Doom Weapons *do* have unique ones to which I'd like to explore at some point. I also want to branch out and look into doing other Doom corrupted items that are not weapons... Still exploring names for the entities, "The Doomwrought" sounds kind of cool, but I mean something as simple as "Shadowborn" or "Doomborn" works as well. #AQ3D

I think Doom specifically originates from these entities within the Plane of Darkness. They're essentially alien in nature, not native to our plane of existence, and have been "lending" their power through Faustian bargains to advance their goals of turning Lore into essentially a conquered outpost for the Plane of Darkness. Reshaping it to just be an extension of it. Which I think would also allow them to take physical shape in Lore rather than needing to inhabit a host.
The Void has no "Goals" other than consuming everything, which would return the world to nothingness before creation. It's a force of nature; it's the lack of creation. It's evil by nature; it's the absence of creation and consuming all it comes into contact with. Most of the wielders that we do battle with are hollowed out husks from the void, eating away at them so their humanity is mostly gone. People might think they are powerful enough to wield the void without it consuming them as it does the targets of their magic, but the first victim of a void wielder is always themselves.
Doom / The Planes of Darkness / ShadowScythe, on the other hand, are conquerors. The function of the ShadowScythe is to plunge Lore into darkness and undeath in preparation for its new rulers. Some are merely tricked into serving with a bad deal or the promise of power. And they always get what is promised to them, but in the end, you will serve. Others serve willingly, seeing entities from the elemental planes, such as the Planes of Darkness, as gods or deities; after all, they have immense power beyond what many are capable of in Lore. #AQ3D

Looking into making past collections purchaseable (as in buying the whole collection), starting with the Talk Like a Pirate Day collections and making sure they're all account-wide as we bring them back. #AQ3D
