Three years ago today, a gunman killed 18 people and injured 13 others in a shooting rampage in Lewiston, Maine.
We are thinking of the Lewiston community today and everyday.

Joaquin was 17 years old when he was shot and killed with an AR-15 in his school.
His opportunity to vote was stolen from him by gun violence.
Vote for Guac and the life he deserved.

Guac at The People’s Theater, an inspired pairing
“This is the balance. I found I can still be Joaquin’s dad. I can talk about how proud I am , funny moments with him; everything.”

What an honor to be hosted by The People’s Theatre and thank you to all who attended Guac.
Our reason to fight. Our source of hope.
It’s always about the people.

I had the pleasure of visiting The People’s Theatre: Centro Cultural Immigrante in Washington Heights this weekend to see the art through which Joaquin Oliver keeps his fight going.
He was shot dead at our high school in Parkland, but through @ChangeTheRef and countless young activists, his memory and creative spirit live on to inspire the next generation of artists and advocates. Viva Guac 💛

9 years ago, Geena Springmann went to a music festival with her sister and friends. What started as a fun night turned into a nightmare when 1,000 rounds were fired into the crowd.
Now she has one plea: protect our communities from assault weapons.
