A new report released Wednesday shows that inadequate child care is costing Lancaster County millions of dollars each year, while families continue to face challenges finding affordable care.

"We are asking the public for some help," Houchin said. "I'm asking whoever is doing this to stop before somebody actually gets hurt in a crash or even worse."

When deputies arrived, they realized it was not a deer, but an elk. Houchin said elk are not very common in Lancaster County. The elk weighed around 600 pounds.

The City reminded residents that signs must be placed between the building and the sidewalk, not between the road and the sidewalk.

"Out of state gambling conglomerates are seeking to make a profit off of fans and players. This will undermine the integrity of college athletics by bringing unrestricted online sports gambling and relentless advertising for online sports betting to Nebraska," the letter said.

Nebraska head coach Fred Hoiberg, as well as players Trevan Leonhardt and Damon Wilkinson spoke to media on Wednesday at Pinnacle Bank Arena.

Captain Robert "Bob" Anderson was recognized for his retirement following 47 years of service. He was given the key to the City of Gibbon.

For the foreseeable future, deputies will be escorting the buses and watching high traffic bus stops as often as possible.
