In 2023, I wrote about being a psychiatrist who lived with suicidal ideation and the need for our society to discuss suicidality openly to decrease stigma.
In April 2025, I wrote about the framework I used to notify others, create goals to keep me alive, cultivate self-love, and radically accept my suicidality when it arose.
In August 2025, I wrote about the framework I use to turn each and every suicidal thought from a seemingly insurmountable force into solvable components.
Today, we move forward in my narrative.
This time, I write to you all to share the four steps I use to navigate and continue my healing journey in the months after my suicidality goes into remission.
Honored to publish in @medpagetoday with my newest piece, βLiving After Suicidality: A Physicianβs Framework for Healing After Their Suicidality Goes into Remission.β
So much love and gratitude to @genevievefri for the stellar edits along with the thoughtfulness and care she put into collaborating on this article.

Six years ago, I wrote in The New England Journal of Medicine about taking back and finding my voice as a Black, gay person in academia.
Six years later, I have found that voice as a Black, queer person in America.

Sending love to trans kids who just want to play sports with their friends at school.
Keep fighting.
Keep fighting against racism.
Keep fighting against gerrymandering.
Keep fighting for that peaceful world.
Keep fighting.
We love you, everyone fighting for fairness and justice in Tennessee.

Today is Trans Day of Visibility.
Trans, non-binary, and gender-nonconforming people have always been here β from the hijra of India to the DinΓ© nΓ‘dleehi to the leaders who built the modern LGBTQIA+ movement here in New York.
Your existence is not up for debate. Your lives are not a political issue.
Weβre fighting for a city where every trans New Yorker can live openly, safely, and with joy.

Board game night with family.
We were born to have fun(damental rights) as queer people.
We were born to be cute queers who arenβt continually fighting for our rights and enjoy a peaceful life instead.
In all the chaos in the world, it has been magical to be with this group where we can discuss the world, take on whatβs happening in our own ways, and also take time to breathe together and simply exist.
We all get through this together, and I couldnβt ask for better people to be beside as we heal our society (this includes all of you).
I love you all so much,
Eternally your Sailor Moon.πππ¦βπ₯π¦π³οΈββ§οΈπ³οΈβππ¦Έπ½ββοΈβπ½
