Thor - B-tier
Kenneth Branagh's visual style is all over the place. The design for Asgard is perfect but the Dutch angles are insane. Hemsworth, Portman, and Dennings are unfortunately forgettable but Hopkins and especially Hiddleston carry the day. A fine coming-of-age tale that does a good job of introducing the supernatural and setting up Avengers without feeling as ham-fisted.
Spider-Man Homecoming - A-tier
Holland is the best Spidey to date and the supporting cast is all perfect as well. Keaton has so much gravitas and plays a top 5 MCU villain. Zendaya is ... here. Refreshing to dispense with the origin stuff we've all seen and get right to the meat of the story, which is grounded and full of classic Spidey stuff. Only real ding against it is too much Iron Man.
Thor Ragnarok: B-tier
A fun, colorful romp and easily the best Thor movie (though the competition isn't especially stiff). Hemsworth gets to play to his strengths, Hiddleston is great as ever if underutilized, Blanchett is a revelation in the villain role chewing the scenery with the best of them. Thompson's Valkyrie and Waititi's Korg are unnecessary additions to a stuffed cast that also has the usual decent Ruffalo performance, a hammy Karl Urban, a steadfast Idris Elba, a small and ever-excellent Hopkins appearance and, of course, the completely inimitable Jeff Goldblum. The action is fun, though with some dicey CGI, but the comedy only lands about half the time. Still an overall good time.
I will never jump on the Greta Van Fleet hate train. Like yes they're very obviously Diet Led Zeppelin but for one thing I don't really see how that's a bad thing in a sea of dogshit pop artists and for another that's what people said about Rush in their early days

Between Anthem, Veilguard, and Andromeda, I'm not surprised by this news. They hadn't come out with a halfway decent game since Dragon Age Inquisition, which was 12 years ago. What a disappointing squandering of talent and potential.
