Volume is the biggest factor in this play. With DeVonta Smith and Dontayvion Wicks both ruled out for Monday Night Football against the Dallas Cowboys, Lemon has a real chance to take on a bigger role in Philadelphia’s passing attack. Lemon has already been seeing solid playing time, and his role has continued to grow throughout the season. With fewer established receivers available, there’s a clear path to more targets. We don’t need him to have a monster game. We just need him to take advantage of the extra opportunities and turn them into enough production to get over this number. Dallas has struggled against opposing WRs, ranking near the bottom of the league in production allowed to the position (21st in Receptions, 15th in Targets, and 24th in Receiving Yards). Lemon’s usage has been trending in the right direction, too. His snap share increased from around 66% in Weeks 1–3 to 79% in Weeks 4–6, while his target share jumped from 11.1% to 17.9%. The production hasn’t fully followed yet, with Lemon totaling just 127 receiving yards through 6 games, an average of 21.2 per game. He also managed only 19 yards last week, but I’m not letting that completely outweigh the opportunity he’s starting to get heading into this game. The play here is volume, opportunity, and matchup. With more targets potentially available and Dallas struggling to contain WRs, Lemon has a path to clear this number. We’re not betting on him suddenly becoming a star or putting up a massive game. This is all about the matchup against the Ravens defense which is a matchup he’s thrives in recorded 110+ rec yards in 4/L4 meetings. The matchup is soft. The Ravens defense has allowed the 7th most receptions (13.3) and 6th most rec yards (175.7) per game to the WR position. We’ve already seen plenty of #1 options cover this number in this matchup: Olave - 86 Lamb - 112 | Pickens - 82 Tate - 145 London - 118 Jerry Jeudy even went for 69 yards last week. Chase has a 20.4% Target share this year and has a 10.5 target currently. He’s over this number in 15/L20 games with 10+ targets including 8/L10. This is also a defense that allows the 6th most air yards and 9th most YAC. Big plays could be brewing. 2.5 spread on this game and the Ravens have had a solid run defense to start the year. Recorded a 76% snap share last game once Evans went down which was the highest snap% in the 49ers WR room. The matchup is quality. The Falcons have a top 5 run defense currently which should cause the 49ers into a more pass-heavy approach throughout the game if that holds. On the flip side they are one of the softer WR matchups in the league: MOST receptions to WRs (14.8) 4th MOST targets to WRs (22.3) 5th MOST rec yards to WRs (180.3) Watkins should slot in as the clear WR1/WR2 in this 49ers offense. Hes already shown the ability to cover this rec yards line in a single catch which he has done in 2/4 games already this season with big play upside. 2+ receivers have recorded 20+ rec yards vs the Falcons in EVERY game this season. 4 different Bears receivers recorded 2+ receptions last week and 3+ receivers have record 2+ receptions in 4/6 games this year vs the Falcons. Overall a solid spot. 2.5 spread on this game so it should be a competitive/neutral script.
