You go, man!
Palmer Luckey says analysts claiming it's too expensive to manufacture in the US are lying to protect megacorps "I think I have a more realistic view than almost anybody. One of the problems with all these analysts that are telling you that it's going to cost $37,000 to build an American iPhone or $100,000 to buy an American computer." "They're trying to prop up a status quo that the megacorporations want to keep going. They want to outsource everything. They want to hire cheaper non-American labor." "They are willing to say and do anything to convince you that it can't be fixed, that it can't come back, that America is this helpless, neutered, post-relevant empire, and it is just not the case." "How do I know that? Because I have to make stuff in America every day because I work in the defense industry. The stuff that Anduril makes every day is not actually that different from a computer. My drones are basically computers. They have memory, a GPU, a CPU, sensors, batteries, a rugged integration." "The only difference between an Anduril attack drone and a laptop is a keyboard and a screen. That is not that hard to figure out, especially for a guy like me who started Oculus and comes from the consumer electronics space." "We're not going to let people lie about what America can and can't do anymore. We're just going to do it."

Times, they are a changin’
this might be my last normal tweet before biotech goes vertical i'm not a whistleblower. I don't work at Lilly, Novo or any of the big labs but there is a massive shift happening in human biology right now. it's sitting in press releases and almost nobody reads them the last 6 months alone: - a once-daily pill roughly doubled median survival in metastatic pancreatic cancer (13.2 vs 6.6 months) - a one-time gene editing infusion cut hereditary angioedema attacks 87%, and 62% of patients stayed attack-free and off all other prevention for 6 months - a one-time gene edit for cholesterol dropped LDL up to 62%, and it held for over a year - a personalized mrna vaccine beat keytruda alone in a 1,137 patient melanoma phase 3 - retatrutide hit ~28% weight loss in a phase 3 - an ai-designed drug entered phase 3 - a pill that regrows hair passed its second phase 3 - an immunotherapy that could let some rectal cancer patients skip surgery, chemo and radiation just got fda approved - a man lived 271 days off dialysis on a pig kidney - human cells were caught passing chromosome-sized chunks of DNA to their neighbors, and it changes how the neighbors behave we are on the verge of an era where the human body is a software problem and the update cycle gets shorter everyday stick around, it's going to get weird bio/acc

He helped create a memorable piece of my childhood. RIP, good man. 🙏
Replying to @WilliamShatner
they left Walter out of the animated series to save money, and instead of sulking he wrote one of its episodes, The Infinite Vulcan. first of the original cast to write a Star Trek story class act. rest easy, Mr. Koenig

Many confuse the truth with their opinion of the truth.

Plasma discharge compared to ancient petroglyphs around the world. This raises a lot of questions...

Hey @grok, is this true?? Some data centers now run on lab-grown human brain neurons derived from stem cells, wired directly to silicon chips via electrode arrays, and kept alive on life support. Fed sugar every few days. They play Doom. We don’t know if they’re conscious.

This company is doing magical stuff. Transmuting zinc into radioactive isotopes of copper used in cancer diagnostics and cutting-edge therapies, turning mercury into gold… 😳
Last month, we demonstrated high-rate alchemy: turning mercury into real, stable gold, beating CERN’s record by a factor of 10. Last week, we enriched isotopes in the world’s most powerful plasma centrifuge, beating the Soviet record that stood for 40 years. Now, we’re building a fusion reactor in San Francisco to achieve record power density.

Well deserved! I’ve been there and it’s incredible.
America’s newest national park is rock solid! Chiricahua is officially our 64th national park. Welcome to the "Wonderland of Rocks."

Bush International Airport in Houston has long been a disaster. Today was extra fun. Trying to park to pick up our 80-year old family friend, we were told to go to Terminal C arrivals for baggage claim, even though she was flying into Terminal E. 🤷‍♂️ So we go to Terminal C, up the ramp to the parking garage. We’re stopped by yellow-vested people who ask if we have reservations. “Reservations to park?” I asked. She nodded. I had no reservations, so she sent me left into the garage to get a ticket, after which I was supposed to immediately scan my ticket and leave, free of charge, and drive to A/B parking lot and take a train back to C. But i couldn’t get out because the guy in front of me hadn’t played along and grabbed his free ticket. So the arm bar wouldn’t raise to let us out. So the yellow vests made me and everyone behind me back up and they guided us to another exit. It also didn’t work, even with my valid ticket. So a yellow vest tore the arm bar assembly apart and touched wires together to get the bar to raise so I could get out. It got worse from there, but I’ll spare the details. I wish I was making this up.

This is going to be awesome!
The only other person who’s ever made me this excited about a product unveil was Steve Jobs. Watching him introduce the first iPhone is a huge part of why I fell in love with technology. Elon brings that feeling back for me, but honestly, I think he takes it to a whole different level. Tomorrow, he and the Tesla team are unveiling the next-gen Roadster, and I seriously cannot wait. The Roadster they showed in 2017 already promised 0–60 mph in 1.9 seconds. Since then, Elon has talked about a Tesla–SpaceX collaboration, having it fly, and getting that time below ONE second, and calling it “the least interesting part” of the car. How do you say something like that and expect me NOT to be excited?! But beyond how fast it goes, I want to see something that makes me sit there and say, “Wow… how in the world did they build that?” I honestly don’t know what they’re going to show us, and that’s part of what makes this so much fun. I really want to be surprised and see the unthinkable. These days I feel many older people don’t get that excited about things… I only see that spark in kids. But imo, we should still get excited about people building cool things. We should still root for the nerds, engineers, and designers trying to do something that has never been done before. And I hope there’s a kid watching tomorrow who feels what I felt watching Steve Jobs introduce the iPhone. Someone who sees this car and starts wondering how it works, sketching their own ideas, or thinking about what they could build someday. I hope y’all are ready to have your minds blown. I’m rooting for you, Elon, and the entire Tesla team behind this car. Go give us a night we’ll never forget!
