Hace sólo 3 años, el negro Matt Petgrave asesinó a Adam Johnson en directo, al levantar el patín y patearle con la cuchilla en el cuello.
Johnson se desangró sobre el hielo y murió poco después.
Aunque el negro ya había levantado el patín en otras ocasiones y era el jugador más sucio y con más sanciones de la liga, finalmente no se presentaron cargos contra él. Los medios de comunicación enterraron el suceso para no fomentar el ‘racismo’.
