America is ravaged by PEDESTRIAN HELLSCAPES.
With Swyft Cities, we can *hop over* them. Pedestrians and bikes cost-effectively soar over cars and traffic, connecting and *growing* friendlier places near every stop.
This is a critical enabling technology for scaling urbanism — which is a critical, and still largely overlooked, climate solution. #SFClimateWeek
The need to provide connectivity across a barrier (freeways, rail yards, etc.) is an emerging trend amongst early @swyftcities customers.

It's rare to successfully reform large systems/institutions to get better outcomes if the reformers don't fully understand them.
Most "simple fix" ideas for climate = flatly irrelevant.
We need radical ideas that spring from expert insight.
We need a professional insurrection.

Conversations since this have convinced me that a ton of professionals engaged with climate/sustainability questions fear the potentially very real career consequences of pointing out the huge gaps between the scale of the crisis and the speed of their employers' actions.
Thousands of climate/energy/sustainability professionals wrestle with this fear of being branded as unreasonable (perhaps even made unemployable) if they're honest about the magnitude of the planetary crisis we face.
This is one of climate denialism's greatest victories. xitter.cf/solar_chase/status/102…

This week @WHO……
….rather than acknowledge their culpability and explain WHY they misled the world about SARS-CoV-2 AIRBORNE transmission….
…they chose to erase the word AIRBORNE and the mode of transmission terminology that led @DrTedros and @DrMikeRyan to deliberately deceive the world about SARS-CoV-2 transmission and thus how to stay safe.
Will we ever know WHY Mike Ryan had such a reluctance to use the word….
…and will we ever be sure they have learnt the lesson that deception and lies about vital facts and putting political considerations above scientific integrity can end in a monumental tragedy like a global pandemic??

Building housing becomes more difficult due to the cost of storing cars that many residents don't even have. @UCLA's Luskin School of Public Affairs has estimated that carless renters pay nearly half a billion dollars annually for parking they don't use. businessinsider.com/america-…
