In case you missed the news recently, the criteria for 'qualifying R&D spend' is due to expand from 2023 to incorporate MORE things. 💙
This includes essential startup stuff like hosting and data storage (yes... reduced AWS bill for the win!).
R&D claim mythbusting: Most R&D claims do not get inspected upon submission to HMRC!
This can give a false sense of security that your R&D claim consultant or accountant is doing a ‘proper job’.
But, it can be challenged by HMRC years after the fact, so it better be watertight
