Desperate. Deranged. Dangerous.

Americans will cast ballots based on issues like affordability. But what's at stake is far, far more -- it's the pillars of the model that led the US to become the world's most powerful country, and it's today's fragile global order. You see how this framing erases Israel’s occupation and justifies its actions? Calling collective punishment a “crackdown” sanitizes it. They’re not maintaining law and order, they’re enforcing a military occupation.

Someone who lies to cover up her country's role in aiding and abetting genocide (by sending arms and mercenaries to the Rapid Support Forces paramilitary in Sudan) should NEVER be UN secretary general. That's United Arab Emirates diplomat Lana Nusseibeh. xitter.cf/Amgad_Fareid/status/21…
In July 2024, Lana Nusseibeh publicly and categorically rejected the UN Panel of Experts’ findings of credible evidence that #UAE supports the atrocities and genocide committed by the Rapid Support Forces (#RSF) militia in Sudan. Confronted on CNN, she declared: “No. Those allegations are categorically untrue.” Asked directly whether she disputed the UN experts’ findings, she replied: “Yes, absolutely.” Now, Ms. Nusseibeh seeks to lead the very institution whose findings she so emphatically dismissed in defence of her government. How can she possibly be entrusted with that responsibility? The fundamental question is not whether Nusseibeh was entitled to defend her regime. It is whether someone who placed that defence above the credible findings of UN experts can genuinely be entrusted with upholding the independence, integrity, and authority of the United Nations. Why should the world trust her judgment when the UN’s findings conflict with the interests of the very government that nominated her? The UN highest office is not for protecting a criminal regime from scrutiny and accountability. The seat of the UN Secretary-General should not be for sale!

There has been speculation that Netanyahu might try to accidentally on purpose provoke a resumption of war with Iran, in hopes of helping him in his election. The Israeli chief of staff appears to share that concern.
Israel's Channel 12 Reporting (English translation of their report:) Breaking news in this edition An unprecedented confrontation between the Chief of Staff and the Prime Minister has reached a critical—or perhaps disastrous—turning point over the last 24 hours. At the heart of the matter: the Iranian issue. There is concern on the part of [Chief of Staff] Zamir that Netanyahu and the political leadership might trigger a scenario of miscalculation vis-à-vis Iran, just ahead of the elections. A defense official states that the action in question could lead to a rapid confrontation with Iran at a highly sensitive and dramatic moment, potentially resulting in a miscalculation. Sources familiar with the details indicate that the military leadership fears an attempt to exploit the Iranian issue for political gain—a claim that political figures deny, labeling it an outright lie. Regardless, two sources tell me that the situation has escalated to the point where, during a visit to the Palmachim Airbase today, the atmosphere in the discussion was extremely tense. In recent days, Zamir received a directive from the political leadership but requested an in-depth discussion before taking any action. He also demanded formal, signed legal authorization from the political echelon for the proposed move. A senior defense official remarked: "History will not forget the role Zamir has played here over the last few days." In short: an exceptionally intense confrontation between Zamir and Netanyahu regarding the Iranian issue, occurring just before the elections. It should be noted: all details in this report have been approved by the Military Censor. Yaron Avraham

Ben-Gvir and Smotrich are not aberrations on the margins of Israeli politics. They reflect a strain of Zionism deeply embedded in the Jewish Israeli electorate. A March 2025 survey reported in Haaretz found that 82% of Jewish Israelis supported the forced expulsion/ethnic cleansing of Palestinians from Gaza, while 56% supported expelling Palestinian CITIZENS of Israel. Those figures shatter the comforting illusion that the problem begins and ends with a handful of extremists. The three leading contenders—Naftali Bennett, Gadi Eisenkot, and Netanyahu—share broadly similar positions on Gaza, the occupied West Bank, illegal settlements, and the systematic repression, subjugation, and oppression of all Palestinians. The central issue is not personality but policy, rooted in Zionist ideology: different leaders, substantial continuity. Any debate over the Abraham Accords must confront this same underlying reality. The Arab countries’ joint statement identifies Israel’s illegal military occupation as the principal source of regional insecurity and instability. On five occasions, Israel has rejected offers of normalization and security guarantees involving all Arab countries and additional Muslim states because those offers required an end to its brutal military occupation, now in its 59th year. The fundamental obstacle is not the absence of a diplomatic opening. It is Israel’s REFUSAL to end the MILITARY occupation. Replacing its prime minister is no substitute for changing that policy—and without that change, a new leader would represent continuity, not a break with the status quo.
I said I wasn’t going to weigh in on who should be prime minister of Israel as that is a decision for Israeli citizens. I did, however, want to share one point of view from the perspective of someone who has an understanding of how Israel is perceived in America. Itamar Ben-Gvir and Bezalel Smotrich have caused Israel enormous reputational damage with their statements and actions which are presented in the global media as representing the voice and will of all Israelis. As such, a government formed without Ben-Gvir and Smotrich will send a message to the rest of the world that Israel is turning a new page. This will allow Israel to rebuild lost credibility, increase the opportunity for an expansion of the Abraham Accords, and enjoy a better relationship with Democrats and Republicans and Americans at large.

Palestinians have a legal right under the Geneva Convention to resist illegal occupation. But imperial Israel and the US gov refuse to recognize the Geneva Convention as applying to the Palestinians. This sets them up to have no rights while Israel has no limits. Raw evil.
⚡️ Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu vowed to demolish an entire Hebron neighborhood, expel its residents and build "more and more settlements" after two Israeli soldiers were killed in a shooting near the illegally occupied West Bank city on Friday. Two Palestinian gunmen opened fire at a junction outside Hebron, killing a staff sergeant and a sergeant, before Israeli forces killed them. Palestinian media identified them as Hamouda Jaaba and Firas Jaaba, both 27, from Hebron. Netanyahu blamed Hamas but offered no evidence beyond ammunition the army said it found in their car. "Our first step will be to demolish this site and completely transform it," Netanyahu said, adding Israel is "building and arranging over 100 new settlements." Israeli forces sealed off Hebron, the largest city in the West Bank, and arrested dozens as Netanyahu ordered preparations for a full closure of the entire West Bank – applying to Palestinians only, with Israeli roads staying open to settlers. The news comes just five days before Israel's elections, with Netanyahu trailing in the polls.

The blockade of the West Bank, the siege of Hebron, the expulsion of thousands from their homes there, & the demolition of buildings & houses are not only to serve Netanyahu’s fascist elections campaign, they’re primarily to implement his longstanding strategy of the ethnic cleansing and annexation of the West Bank. Israel’s criminality & cruelty know no bounds.
Hundreds of families have been in the street with nowhere to go since they were forced out of their homes by Netanyahu’s thugs in Al Khaleel

Pre-election stunts by Netanyahu are familiar to Palestinians. He uses vicious oppression to appeal to his Israeli political base. It has always worked in the past.
More than 2,200 Palestinians have been forcibly displaced from their homes in Hebron by the Israeli army, which continues its military attack in the city, demolishing houses, arresting hundreds of people, and threatening to forcibly displace another 5,000 Palestinians from their homes.
