I probably shouldn’t read too much into this, but what if the rumored new iOS/Mac UI framework is based entirely on SceneKit? I don’t mean a fully 3D UI, but more direct access to shaders instead of UIVisualEffect, more sophisticated materials, shadows, animations etc.
