"Person with significant investment in AI says AI is essential"
‘A kid growing up today will never be smarter than AI.’ OpenAI CEO Sam Altman has urged ministers at the G20 tech summit in North Carolina to embrace AI, warning that failing to do so would be comparable to rejecting electricity during the industrial era.

I guess I'm the problem. I just bought tickets to Doomsday, showing in December. The opening weekend is almost sold out five months in advance. $25 each. What in the world is going on with movies?

That feeling when you're frustrated that your gigabit internet speed is clocking at 33mbps, only to realize you forgot to plug in the cable and you're connecting over wifi. Id10t error, loose nut behind the keyboard, etc.

Seems people are realizing that lack of income means no buyers for all those AI-produced goods and services.
Universal HIGH INCOME via checks issued by the Federal government is the best way to deal with unemployment caused by AI. AI/robotics will produce goods & services far in excess of the increase in the money supply, so there will not be inflation.

What will be left after we’ve felled the last forest and closed the last college? What will remain in a world without wilderness or winters, where the old tales & poems are forgotten? A world where illiterate people sit on their phones and gamble is the definition of dystopian.

ER S14 E13 Atonement This deep into the series many of the storylines are frighteningly bad, but this episode brings out a great performance from the stellar Jonathan Banks. Thank goodness for guest stars!

There is probably a point (I'm well beyond that point) where we move into understanding this one simple thing: that life is a river flowing one way too swiftly.

It’s hard lately not to feel a sense of perpetual loss. The Forest Service is being dismantled, emperor penguins are endangered, increasingly no one can read. These were all choices that could easily have been avoided. We could have built a really wonderful world.
🚨 The emperor penguin is now officially endangered. Climate change is shrinking the sea ice they depend on to breed, and when it breaks too early, chicks drown before they even have a chance. Some colonies are collapsing completely.
