quote: “Individuals are shaped by the people, the buildings, the services and society around them.” “At its heart, social work and social care support are about seeing a whole person and supporting them to live a full life in the community. Social care and social work play an essential role in supporting people to retain their independence, often in their own home, and to help people live well.”

A good statement from @scottishcare. Social care is complex and nuanced and the greatest risk around vulnerability is in the community. Discussion about the future of social care must take cognisance of funding. Changing management structures won't deliver the change needed.

Lynch: Bryson DeChambeau’s tantrum at The Open didn’t damage his reputation. It solidified it

Bryson DeChambeau's actions and attitude at The Open suggest a man who’d prefer to remain in a manufactured reality entirely of his own design.

Today is Power of Attorney Day. We tend to assume that close relatives will automatically be allowed to make decisions on our behalf if something happens to us, but this isn’t true. Make life simpler for those closest to you and find out more: powerofattorneyday.org.uk

Everyone at Hibernian FC is deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Hibs legend Alex Cropley, at the age of 75. A member of the Hibs Hall of Fame, Alex made 199 appearances for the Club and was an instrumental part of the iconic 'Turnbull's Tornadoes' side that won the League Cup in 1972. Cropley scored 49 goals for Hibs, including the fourth in our 0-7 victory over Hearts at Tynecastle on New Year's Day 1973. Rest in peace, Alex 💚

I was delighted to pop in to this today and thanks to all the Cllr Scott and to Claire Brooks and all her colleagues who organised this. Losing at Connect 4 to someone who was over 40 years younger than me was my particular highlight.......and he didn't even cheat!
