GREAT NEWS! Do you remember these two (criminal) clowns...? They've now both been issued with £1000 fines by North Warks Borough Council. Also, the vehicle they were driving was issued as part of the taxpayer-funded Motability Scheme. This has now been seized by the police on behalf of the Motability company.

Heartbreaking as it is… this is true.
Britain is decaying. Blocked road drains. Weeds growing on pavements. Potholes. Rubbish on streets. Dirty buildings. Road signs covered in dirt. We are paying increased taxes but local and national governments and authorities aren’t doing the basics. So it’s time to take the matter in our own hands and clean up our own communities. It’s time for a Great British Clean Up - Pride in Place.

This bloke litters from his car not once, not twice, but THREE TIMES. 😡 We're going to highly publicise this shocking example of anti-social and selfish behaviour and ensure he's fined severely by the local Council. @TMBC_Kent @TandM_Greens @BBCRadioKent @TomTugendhat @ReformUKKent @KirstieMAllsopp

MORE OF THIS NEEDED ACROSS THE COUNTRY. This is one way you change behaviour. Create a genuine fear of being caught - just like speeding. A trial using LitterCam detection equipment linked to CCTV cameras was launched on Sept 14th on the Edinburgh City by-pass.

We have a lot of selfish and socially-irresponsible people in Britain. They need re-educating and seriously punishing. We’re lobbying for MINIMUM fines to be increased to £1,000.

A tough and embarrassing read, but true. Britain’s infrastructure is in a woeful state. Symptomatic of a lack of long term investment and a lack of national pride. One of the reasons why the country is so filthy and hyper littered. @KirstieMAllsopp
The Great British decay. Everyone is saying the same thing. Britain’s infrastructure is crumbling in plain sight - a slow-motion national embarrassment that daily humiliates a country that once led the world in building industrialised communities, railways, ports, and modern utilities. Local roads face an £18.6 billion repair backlog. Only about half the network is in good structural condition. Roads are resurfaced on average once every 97 years. Over 1 million potholes on the roads. The economic toll from congestion, vehicle damage, and lost time runs into tens of billions annually. Water pipes leak nearly a fifth of the supply in England. Much of the network is decades or a century old; replacement rates imply assets expected to last a thousand years. Sewage discharges and pollution events have become routine. Rail sees a quarter of delays caused by infrastructure faults, while major projects like HS2 have ballooned in cost and shrunk in scope. Energy networks strain under rising demand and weather extremes. Public satisfaction with national infrastructure has collapsed to just 26%. This is not random bad luck. Britain systematically under-maintains what it already has while paying a steep premium for new projects. Studies show the UK faces a cost premium of relative to peers such as Germany, France, Spain, Italy, South Korea and Canada — averaging around 65% more, and nearly double for rail and tram. 39 reservoirs have been sold off in the past 34 years. No new ones have been built. So instead of ensuring water supply security, the UK government spaffs away £22 billion on carbon capture machines. Britain now has one of the lowest gas storage capacities in Europe. Local councils are regularly letting pavements decay with weeds under the auspices of ‘rewilding’. Headline spending looks better than the actual infrastructure delivered. Projects routinely run late and far over budget. Short-term political cycles, fragmented delivery, planning delays, and successive governments who ignore what is required compound the decay. Compare this with countries that still treat infrastructure as a foundation of national competence rather than an afterthought. Singapore ranks near the top globally for infrastructure quality. Its integrated planning delivers reliable ports, airports, broadband, utilities and transport that work as a system. Switzerland, the Netherlands, Denmark, Sweden and Finland consistently score far higher on competitiveness and quality metrics — precise rail, well-maintained roads, resilient water systems and long-term asset management. Japan’s high-speed rail and overall network reliability remain benchmarks of punctuality and maintenance culture. Germany and South Korea invest and deliver with greater cost discipline and continuity. The contrast is brutal. Nations that plan beyond electoral cycles, prioritise maintenance over prestige projects, control costs through competent delivery, and treat reliability as non-negotiable pull ahead. Britain invents excuses — density, weather, democracy, history — while paying more for less and watching the fabric of daily life fray. Potholes, leaks and delays are not mere inconveniences; they are symptoms of eroded civic pride and misplaced priorities. A country that once exported engineering excellence now struggles to keep its own tarmac intact and its water in the pipes. The message is simple and urgent: without a sustained focus on competence, cost discipline, long-term maintenance and delivery that actually works, Britain will continue to fall behind the places that still know how to build and keep a functioning nation.
