Britain is in an Energy Emergency.
But the Government is FAILING TO ACT. They have no plan, no idea what to do, and theyâre leaving us exposed.
So today weâre launching The LFG Emergency Energy Bill to SAVE OUR INDUSTRIES and GET BILLS DOWN
Hereâs how it would get bills down IMMEDIATELY:
1ď¸âŁ SCRAP all levies on energy bills. These stealth taxes on the British people are unnecessarily hiking up their bills by hundreds of pounds.
2ď¸âŁ REOPEN THE NORTH SEA, and directly deploy the tax revenue generated to GET BILLS DOWN.
3ď¸âŁ Stop new CfD contracts and launch an investigation into the system that signed them off. Last year, billpayers paid ÂŁ1.5 billion for big renewable corporations to THROW ENERGY AWAY. By 2030, itâll be ÂŁ8 billion. The existing settlement is a national scandal.
4ď¸âŁ Scrap Clean Power 2030 targets. These needless constraints have pushed civil servants to procure wind at any cost â and at huge expense to the British people.
5ď¸âŁ DITCH the duties of energy regulators, NESO and Ofgem, towards Net Zero goals, so their only focus is to MINIMISE ENERGY COSTS, subject to security of supply.
6ď¸âŁ Hold auctions for connecting to the grid, and directly deploy the revenue generated to GET BILLS DOWN
Our Emergency Energy Bill has cross-party support. It is ready to PASS IMMEDIATELY. It does what governments for the past 20 years didnât â it takes RADICAL ACTION to SAVE OUR INDUSTRIES and GET BILLS DOWN.
Thereâs no excuse. Last week, the US suspended access to some of the worldâs leading frontier AI models. Britain is vulnerable - and our energy prices are strangling our national security. We cannot afford to be at the mercy of other countries or events beyond our control any longer.
The Government needs to GET BILLS DOWN NOW or explain why theyâre still letting this emergency destroy our future.
Force Westminster to ACT. Send our Bill to your local MP and sign our letter to the Prime Minister and Ed Miliband. GET BILLS DOWN, NOW!
Did you know?
Hammersmith Bridge has been SHUT to cars for SEVEN years.
The council say they need ÂŁ128 million to do some urgent repairs. If Gov says no, PEDESTRIANS wonât be able to use it.
Even if the money is approved, it will still need MORE repairs if it is to survive to 2050.
London has a charity set up to fixes bridges worth ÂŁ1.5 BILLION.
If their rules were changed, it could FIX Hammersmith Bridge too.
And theyâve changed the rules before.
So why not now?
Change the rules. Rebuild Hammersmith Bridge.
What do you think?

Delighted to contribute some words to this essential campaign. We canât let the NIMBYs and whingers win again! Granton needs that tram!
Replying to @lfg_uk
"We look around and see a malaise that has characterised a whole generation. In the modern UK, getting a data centre, tram line, or nuclear power plant built seems to take ages, cost a fortune.â

Why are we listening to these whingers?Â
The people of Edinburgh want to build a new tram, from north to south.Â
It would serve Granton, one of the cityâs poorest areas.Â
Granton suffers from deprivation, youth unemployment, and joblessness.Â
But, the plans to build the tram are in peril.Â
Why?
Because of a well-organised group of wealthy NIMBYs who think the old railroad path should not be used for a tram.Â
It was quite literally BUILT for rail.
Whatâs even worse is that the path wouldnât be âdestroyedâ, like they claim.
It would still be there.Â
They are NIMBYs and whingers.Â
Edinburgh City Council must ignore their lies.Â
Granton was promised a tram. Itâs time to get on with it.
What do you think?
EXC: Campaigners with @lfg_uk are launching another attempt to bring the tram to Granton, hitting out at 'whingers and NIMBYs' who oppose building on the Roseburn Path.

This is why we canât get anything done.
In Rayleigh, plans to build 87 homes were met with 821 objections.
821 objections. Almost ten objections per home.
The average age of home ownership is 34.Â
Young British people deserve a place to live and start a family.
Currently they aren't able to.
So why were the houses blocked?Â
Because of a âloss of lightâ.Â
âLoss of lightâ blocked 87 opportunities.
This is not more important than allowing British people to live their life.
Itâs time to just get on with it.

Yes, there might already be a Bradford - Leeds railway.
But not a regular metro service when you have slippery rails. A fifteen minute frequency, now every hour.
A tram service would not only offer metro stop spacing, but valuable resilience.
Can we build it? Yes we tram.

Govt snatching defeat from the jaws of victory here.
They approved new gas from Jackdaw, as we called for in the @lfg_uk Energy Bill.
"BUT THAT'S IT!" they boom now.
Mixed messages.
Is saving face for Ed Miliband more important than showing pragmatism to the British public??
Britainâs international climate leadership is backed by strong action at home.
The Energy Independence Bill is vital to that effort.
Delivering warmer homes, lower bills and energy security through clean power we control, and legislating for no new oil and gas licences.
This is what leadership on climate and the clean energy transition looks like.

Why do politicians choose decline?
Because they don't treat any of this with the sense of seriousness or emergency that the country REQUIRES.
We don't need sky high costs, and endless delays or decades of documentation.
We need action.
Parliament is sovereign. End decline.

Enough.
Itâs time to build the tram.

In 2019, Notre Dame burnt down.Â
Just five years later, people were allowed to enter again.Â
It cost âŹ700 million to fix.Â
At the time, it was considered impossible. It was done anyway.
Parliament is crumbling and desperately needs renovations.Â
The current quote is almost ÂŁ40 BILLION and it will take SIXTY-ONE years.Â
It gets worseâŚÂ
âEach year of delay adds up to ÂŁ420 million to the potential lifetime cost of delivering the Programme.âÂ
This is absurd.
Parliament must ACT NOW.
It should not cost that much.
It should not take that long.Â
A ten year old today could be retired by the time itâs finished.Â
Notre Dameâs renovation eliminated endless reviews, legal battles, and unnecessary work.Â
Our Bill does the same. It would slash the cost and GET IT DONE.Â
We have the ready made solution.Â
Should they use it?
