No Governor plans for underdevelopment. No President designs poverty. So why do so many policies fail the people? I addressed this while delivering my Chairman's Opening remarks at the 13th Annual Public Lecture of the @FoursquareNigr, held during its 71st Annual Convention in Lagos. I highlighted that Nigeria's infrastructure deficit rarely stems from malicious intent, but rather from seemingly sensible decisions that lack a lasting impact on the quality of life for the people. #ClemAgba #PCA

Professor Christensen once asked how we will measure our lives. While our finite minds aggregate money, votes, and titles, the divine measure in Matthew 25:40 focuses entirely on what we do for the least of our brothers and sisters as doing it for God. Drawing on this truth gives today’s leaders the courage to make the best decisions even when they are unpopular. #ClemAgba #PCA

Conversations about multidimensional poverty in Nigeria too often treat it as a federal issue. Yet state and local governments are constitutionally responsible for the vast majority of the deprivations driving it. I highlighted this not to blame today's Governors for decades of neglect, but to call for a shift in our priorities and ensure the people know exactly where to demand accountability. #ClemAgba #PCA

A rural road decides if a farmer’s produce reaches the market. A local clinic decides if a mother survives childbirth. If the location of an infrastructure project dictates survival and livelihood, why are some leaders only interested in building where the cameras are? The MPI solves this by forcing us to judge every project not by its visibility, but by one single question. Does it reduce deprivation? #ClemAgba #PCA

Poverty is often mistaken for a simple lack of money. But multidimensional poverty asks a harder question: are schools, clinics, clean water, and power actually within your reach? At the 13th Annual Public Lecture of @FoursquareNigr, I discussed how the Multidimensional Poverty Index (MPI) goes beyond mere statistics. It tells us exactly how, and with what intensity, the people are deprived, turning data into a practical instrument of policy. #ClemAgba #PCA
