Now do Putin...
Fact about the US: - US holds federal elections on fixed schedule even during war; no constitutional power to postpone them indefinitely. - Trump won the 2024 presidential election. Fact about the dictator’s countries: - Ukraine has postponed elections under martial law since the 2022 invasion. - Zelenskyy has not faced voters since 2019; his original term ended in 2024. He did not win any election in 2024! Oh! European countries have a lot of dictators! 😏

Ukraine has postponed elections because its law prohibits them under martial law in effect since Russia's 2022 invasion; Zelenskyy's term continues per the constitution until a new president is elected after it ends. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Next_Ukra… fullfact.org/politics/trump… atlanticcouncil.org/blogs/ukrainea…

This has to be parody....right..?
Have we considered the possibility that Zelensky and Ukraine started the war with Russia specifically to sabotage President Trump and the GOP’s 2026 midterm hopes? I feel like we can’t rule this out.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Russia occupied Crimea in 2014 and launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine on Feb. 24, 2022. Zelenskyy took office in 2019. The war predates 2026 midterms by years. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Russo-Ukr… politifact.com/factchecks/202…

This is what ignorance looks like
No hurricanes in the Atlantic for the first time in 112 years. Great Barrier Reef thriving. Climate doomsayers silent. Media MIA.

Indeed. Peak Etna output hits ~30 kt CO2/day, so under 0.1 Mt in 3 days. EU cuts over a decade total hundreds of Mt annually. The original claim missed by four orders of magnitude.

Does anyone want to point out the obvious to Robert πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ #climatechange
Want me to math the shit out of you? If climate change was real, no bank would finance a 30 year mortgage within 1000 yards of the ocean. And bankers never lie about money.

Errmmmm....no
The HAARP lasers are preventing the Atlantic from having hurricanes. 🀯
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Fake. HAARP does not use lasers, and it has no ability to create, steer, or avoid hurricanes. The idea that the High-frequency Active Auroral Research Program (HAARP) controls or manipulates extreme weather is a widespread conspiracy theory noaa.gov/news/fact-chec…

The planet is hotter now than it’s been throughout the history of human civilisation. We have no real idea how bad this is going to get.

25 years ago, the world watched in disbelief as lives were changed forever. Today, we remember the nearly 3,000 people who lost their lives on September 11, 2001, and the countless families, friends, first responders and communities who carried the consequences long afterwards. Whatever our differences, some things should unite us. Remembering those we lost, honouring those who helped, and choosing compassion over hatred. We remember. We honour. We will never forget. πŸ•ŠοΈ

I find these World Trade Center simulations by Kostack Studio fascinating because they remove the smoke and let you see the collapse much more clearly. In the real footage, so much is hidden by fire, dust, debris, distance, and chaos that many people come away with the impression that the towers simply dropped straight down into their own footprints. But that is not really what happened. These simulations make it much easier to see that the collapse begins in the heavily damaged and fire-weakened region, the upper section starts moving and tilting, and the destruction then propagates downward through the structure. The towers do not simply disappear vertically into their own footprints. Large portions of the upper structure and exterior are moving outward and to the side as the collapse develops. Much of that motion is simply obscured in the real videos once the enormous debris cloud forms. And this is also why I find these simulations useful when people describe the collapses as looking like β€œcontrolled demolition.” Strip away the smoke and dust and the resemblance becomes much less convincing. What you see is a highly asymmetric structural failure beginning around the aircraft-damaged and fire-affected floors, followed by an enormous moving mass progressively overwhelming the structure beneath it. There is tilting, rotation, exterior columns peeling away, debris being thrown far outside the building footprint, and structural failure occurring chaotically as the collapse moves downward. That is very different from the neat mental image usually implied by β€œcontrolled demolition,” where structural supports are deliberately severed in a carefully timed sequence to produce a predetermined collapse. And importantly, we already know what preceded these collapses. Both towers suffered massive aircraft-impact damage. Fireproofing was stripped from portions of the structure. Large, uncontrolled fires then burned across multiple floors - for about 56 minutes in the South Tower and about 102 minutes in the North Tower - heating and weakening structural components until collapse initiated. Once that upper mass began moving, the loads imposed on the floors and structure beneath became vastly greater than anything they had been designed to carry. The result was progressive collapse. No, an animation is not proof simply because it looks convincing, and these are not official NIST simulations. They are visualizations built under particular assumptions. But as visualizations, I think they are extremely useful. They let you see something the original footage often cannot show clearly: beneath that enormous cloud of smoke and debris was a complicated, violent, asymmetric structural failure - not two buildings neatly dropping straight down into their own footprints. A note on the simulation: this is not intended to reproduce the collapse down to the exact motion of every beam, floor panel, and fragment of debris. No practical simulation could do that. Its value is in modeling the large-scale structural behavior - how the major sections deform, move, tilt, separate, and progressively fail. Think of it as a visualization of the mechanics and overall collapse behavior, not a frame-by-frame reconstruction of where every piece of steel ultimately landed.

So, if we advance AI toward an autonomous superintelligence, it will either not kill us or kill us; if we do not advance it toward an autonomous superintelligence, it will not kill us... soooo...I feel the decision is made...right ?

β€œIt’s just El NiΓ±o.” That argument misses the point. El NiΓ±o is a natural fluctuation riding on top of a rapidly warming climate. August 2026 just tied the hottest month ever recorded at +1.65Β°C above pre-industrial levels. Natural variability explains the wiggles. It doesn't explain the rising trend. That's physics. 🌍πŸ”₯
