For medics and non medics, this is a very disturbing read
π§΅/
This is, I believe, unprecedented in the history of UK medicine.
28 eminent UK doctors have written publicly to @LaylaMoran, the new chair of @CommonsHealth, to report something nothing less than scandalous.

Had a lovely 10k race at #wilmslow @RunnorthwestRun Great vibe. And faster than last year. Thanks to all the marshals and Wilmslow Striders π
BREAKING/
This is a scandalous moment in UK medicine.
Over 80 Fellows of @RCPhysicians have just declared their lack of confidence in the College.
Why?
Because they believe its stance on physician associates (PAs) is recklessly failing patients.
Pls read - this matters. π§΅
So important that you keep highlighting the blatant political machinations behind this pay dispute. Happy Holidays @goldstone_tony ! β at North West, England
1/ Another brilliant interview by @_VivekTrivedi on @BBCBreakfast π
As you say @scotgov had the courage to continue negotiations when strikes on the table, avoiding the need for ANY strikes in Scotland, & finding a resolution.
Why does @VictoriaAtkins @RishiSunak not do so?
Thank you Harry for this. Just listened after reading your Times article, genuinely moved me to a tear π’. Hopefully hear a few more @ManUtd victories announced like the good old days π€ β at North West, England
Like many, a cherished memory of mine is hearing James Alexander Gordon read the classified football results on BBC Radio 5 Live.
Well, using AI, nearly a decade after he died, his voice has been resurrected for the modern day. My story here @JAGresults

1/ π§΅I can't keep up with Mr Barclay's claims about consultant's pensions, last month (17th July @thetimes) it was Β£60,000 pensions, now the claim is "consultants when they retire *now* aged 65 will get a *tax-free* pension of Β£73,000" ?!
This morning on @bbcr4today the Health Secretary @SteveBarclay said Consultants get a "tax-free pension of Β£73,000 a year" when they retire.
This is categorically not true, and we expect him to issue an urgent correction. Here's why 𧡠(1/5)

Same complete BS from this government & thanks to @DailyMirror for highlighting PMs liesπ
Indeed had the Mirror gone even further back itβs even more obvious that waiting lists are a #politicalchoice
Not due to strikes, covid, flu or anything but #austerity

It's gratifying to read that one of the news organisations in the UK are accurate over the NHS consultants strike, shame about @BBCNews @SkyNews and the others. β at North West, England
Thanks @5_News @catherine5news for the credit & excellent report - much more balanced reporting of the figures than Ive seen elsewhere in the media today!
Just after midnight I heard @kayeman voice those famous words again, "You Are An Ironman" Amazing crowd support from the locals, thank you @IRONMANtri β at Basque Country, Spain
Very sad to hear that IM UK Bolton is no longer continuing, it will become a 70.3, and IM Stafford 70.3 is to be dropped totally. These were my first two Ironman events in 2016 and I raced well behind @lucygoss in both of them! @IRONMANtri @IRONMANUK703 β at North West, England

Well this is a step in the right direction, but the annual allowance doesn't go far enough.
It is also very difficult to make sensible life decisions when they fiddle with rules every year.

Replying to @drphilhammond
Brandolini's law.
The bullshit asymmetry principle. "It takes an order of magnitude more energy to refute bullshit than to produce"
This seems to be a chink of light and mentions both annual allowance and LTA. If it stops the NHS haemorrhaging senior staff then that would be a good thing but as ever, let's wait and see. β¦@goldstone_tonyβ© β¦@gdcukβ© β¦@Vish_Sharmβ© telegraph.co.uk/politics/202β¦

8/ Government need to urgently change plans regarding the timing of thie and/or put in place full mitigation so noone is forced to make these decisions, and take a cut in their pension by simply staying in work.
They must also immediately #FixNegativePIAs
