Feeling like RB is the next position to take off in MA after our legendary QB run. This young man is unbelievable.

No. 4 Marshfield High (5-1) vs No. 9 Hingham (4-3), in a Patriot League battle.
@GORAMSathletics @HarbormenNews @hinghamfootball
Marshfield's senior spirit, 27 members deep, rebounds from a bumpy start with blazing intensity and scores 41 unanswered points against a powerful Hingham team that came to play.
You know, if it inspired an unironic use of Skynyrd, it's high-quality football.
H/t to the inestimable @MarshfieldMedia, who always delivers a top-tier call for MHS Sports.
FINAL: Marshfield 44 - Hingham 21

D3 doesn’t ban athletic scholarships by accident. It bans them on purpose.
No scholarship = no pressure to treat sports like a job. Athletes stay students first. Why is that an issue? Result of their approach? Highest graduation rates in the NCAA, the most participants, and kids who actually play for the love of the game.
Force scholarships and you kill the only division that still operates as the last form of amateurism in the country.
Best analytics every week 🍿
If there’s a genuine interest in figuring out how to respond to the falling HS football participation numbers in Massachusetts and resulting forfeitures, I think it’s important to look at the commonalities between programs like Marshfield and Springfield Central. The economics of high school football are highly resilient and countercyclical to economic downturns. Organization and the continuity of community support for youth and high school football matter much, much more.

The crowd is stacking up for perfect New England Friday Night Football weather on @GORAMSathletics Senior Night as they prepare for a battle against Patriot League rival @HarbormenNews.
Big playoff storylines and great athletes on both sides for two of South Shore’s leading coaches with Coach Arouca’s Rams and Coach Byrnes’ Harbormen trying to make a claim on the Keenan Division title.

No huddle. No time to get set. And the Rams are rolling downhill. 🐏🟢 @GORAMSathletics
Marshfield’s quick count and mid-drive subs, out of 12 and 11 personnel with jet and orbit motion, creates a whirling, blistering engine of moving parts that is difficult to keep up with. Down blocks and pullers are everywhere and opposing LBs must keep their head on a swivel. On D, their stout and explosive DEs cause problems for QBs with constant pressure, their LBs are active gap shooters, and their agile secondary can adjust to just about any look. Will they be able to match the size and speed of Hingham’s WRS? With a 4-3 Over in Cover 3 Match that rolls to a version of 2-man or two-high Quarters on passing downs — this is a good match up to watch on gotta have it downs.
The Rams’ team page has formations drawn player by player, a card for every featured player, and the film it was built from.

How Hingham Football finds safe harbor in the end zone. ⚓🔴 @HarbormenNews
The Harbormen run a shotgun offense in 11 personnel that creates zone running lanes, but also PA that gets their athletic QBs to the edge. Then they spreads out the defense to take advantage of their big, rangy, vertical threat WRs in 10P with RPO action. On D, a 4-3 two-high shell that drops into a nickel with their Havard-bound LB off the edge against spread sets, and a true 3-down when they want to keep it all in front and cause turnovers.

Big names. Big rematch. Big questions will be answered.

Last October, Marshfield stopped Hingham three times inside the 5 in the final 40 seconds to win 7-6 on their turf. Now the rematch moves to Marshfield. It is sure to be Eastern Mass and South Shore football at its finest.
Both teams have junior and senior stars that are working to make their way back to full speed. Will there be fireworks as a result?
The Rams are professionals at catching defenses out of alignment with their fast-paced offense. The Harbormen have SIZE and athleticism, they are dangerous when they ball out quick to their big targets in the pass game and, on defense, when they put pressure on the QB early.

Check the tape on this 29 LB! Had a chance to see Mr. Baker last week in person against a tough, run-heavy, big BB&N team. Extremely tough, agile, and savvy sophomore who steps into the gap to shed blockers and make a play and did a great job scraping over the top. Great motor and no quit.

'29 OLB/ATH - Baker is a great tackler and always seems to be in the right place. He started as a freshman and has already played a lot of varsity football as a sophomore.

FILM RECAP FROM SATURDAY:
Duxbury Players of the Game vs. Silver Lake
O: Liam Murray (2-QB), Eamon Kane (7-QB), Hank Frazier (58-OL)
D: J.R. Pike (20-S), Wyatt Enggasser (12-LB), Cooper Farabaugh (54-DE)
Underclassmen coming up BIG: Murray carried the Dragon’s home late. Pike came up with some big tackles and sealed it.
I am now a huge Hank Frazier fan. The young man eats double teams all day on defense and then throws big blocks on screen passes 20 yards downfield. The big fella was working!!
@DuxHSFootball @sports_ledger #GrittyGOW
Duxbury Two-Way Player of the Game: Everett Pang (22-RB/S)
Dashed for a 24-yard TD on a screen pass before halftime, racked up 70+ all-purpose yards, and made a diving interception on a tipped pass from Colin Murray.
