Happy birthday to former Cleveland and Northeastern State lineman and long-time Jenks head football coach Allan Trimble, born on this day in 1963 in Cleveland, Oklahoma. Trimble played for his hometown Tigers as a two-way lineman and later played collegiately at Northeastern State, earning an Honorable Mention All-Oklahoma Intercollegiate and Honorable Mention All-District IX selection. He earned his Bachelor's Degree from NSU in 1986 and a Master's Degree in 1988. He began his coaching career as an assistant at Owasso from 1987 to 1990 before joining the Jenks program in 1990, serving as offensive line coach before being promoted to Offensive Coordinator in 1993. In 1996, Trimble was called upon to replace Ron Lancaster as head coach and the Trojans immediately won the state championship. Then another. And another. The string of state titles reached six straight in 2001 and Trimble would add seven more gold balls to the Jenks trophy case over the next 14 years. In 2016, Trimble announced he would step down as head coach in July of that season, later announcing he had been diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, or ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig's Disease. He would change his mind and continue to coach the Trojans for two more seasons before officially announcing his retirement on April 12, 2018. After a three year battle against ALS, Trimble passed away from complications of the disease on December 1, 2019 at the age of 56. Trimble was inducted into the Oklahoma Coaches Association Hall of Fame in 2015, the Oklahoma Sports Hall of Fame in 2018 and the National High School Hall of Fame in 2023. In 2026, Trimble was named one of the members of the inaugural Hall of Fame class at Jenks Public Schools, which will be inducted during halftime of the Trojans' October 15th game against Edmond Santa Fe. Today, the stadium where Trimble led so many Jenks victories bears his name. #tdfn #okpreps @JenksFootball @ClevelandTgFB @NSU_Football
