This photo right here is why I’ve done all that, and will continue to do so as this book lives in the world. Why I write. Why I and Jessica Lloyd and Caden invest a lot of my time into writing books. For a fleeting moment like this captured by a Jefferson County Schools camera. Fleeting in time, captured forever.
Lot of negative in this world. Crime. School issues. Money. Politics.
All those things have a place. Heck, some are in these pages. But there is always room to find the leadership, legacy, and the lessons learned from all of it.

Rings are meant to complete something.
For a couple weeks, that completion was uncertain. But after a slightly awkward Clay City Council meeting Tuesday night, an unfinished setting is now finished.

The Clay-Pinson Chamber of Commerce just presented a $30,000 check to the Cougars.
As someone who has been on the losing side of this before, I have to say I totally agree. The only people who think it’s a good idea to have the losing team watch the winners get their trophy are people who have no idea how much heart is put into this.
I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again. The NFL & College football have post game celebrations completely figured out. Security is important, I think they certainly pay attention to security. They also create an amazing experience post game.
After teams shake hands the losing team is allowed to head to the locker room. It’s a disappointing time for sure. However, the focus turns completely to the champs.
Not only does the trophy presentation go well, family are allowed to be present, pictures are being taken, players & coaches are celebrating with one another & with their families. Look at all the media allowed to participate. These photos & player videos of the celebration will be social media gold. You (NFL & CFP) can’t buy that publicity. They are allowed to celebrate as they wish & with their families.
Winning is hard…it takes a ton of sacrifice from players, coaches, staff and families. These memories will last forever, but you gotta be allowed to make the memories.
If college football & the NFL can create easily manageable, safe scenarios where families and team guests celebrate a championship post game, I know we can in high school. We’ve made positive strides for state championship post game. More work to do tho!
