Mayor Johnson’s plan to refinance a chunk of the city’s massive debt generated just half of what he promised Chicagoans. We must now come up with another $49 million. The City’s credit rating is just above junk status. The fiscal mismanagement of this mayoral administration has made it much more expensive for the City to borrow money. That means Chicagoans have to pay more to cover bad decisions at City Hall. Chicago is facing a generational fiscal crisis. Our road to prosperity starts at the ballot box. We can either keep electing politicians beholden to special interest donors or we can elect a mayor with proven skills who  will answer to Chicagoans. I am the only candidate for Mayor who has successfully managed fiscal crises and turned near junk bond status into 12 credit upgrades.
