I this is great advice to follow! It’ll all grow from there for you!
🗣️ Young Coaches…
🚨 Be Great at what you are asked to do within your program before you start trying to add more to your plate!
🤝 Once you’ve earned trust within your organization by proving you can execute your tasks at a high level then it’s time to enhance other areas within your program!
📈 Continue to learn and grow… Your older self will thank you later!

Assistant Coaches/Recruiting Coordinator advice: Map out games!
Yes in season will get crazy and busy with games, scouts, so on. Keep an eye on key recruits games as well as some local teams in your area. Key HS/JUCO tournaments and games. Have a schedule handy and ready!

Players-
with college basketball getting ready to start, I encourage you to watch ALL levels of college basketball.
D1, D2, D3, NAIA, and JUCO.
Don’t just watch the big D1 programs on TV. Go watch games at schools in your area.
You’ll quickly realize how good college basketball is at every level.

Research!
One advice I can give to other assistant coaches/Recruiting coordinators. Researching prospects will really help! Recruits and your head coach will love it if you’ve done your homework on a prospect. How will they fit the program? What are they looking for? Etc

High school coaches, AAU programs, and trainers: Use local and regional recruitment to your advantage.
Build positive, trustworthy relationships with these colleges and coaches! You’ll create far more opportunities for your players than having this mindset!

Also keep notes on every player you evaluate. Have an evaluation form! (I have to give @ErikDeRooTTU credit for sharing this advice) it will TRULY help when discussing prospects with your head coach!

Assistant Coach/Recruiting coordinator advice:
When you’re going out to recruit, be prepared! Have a list of games and players you want to see. This can be based on your recruiting board, kids who emailed you, relationships, etc. However you sort it out, be sure to sort it out!

If you’re working with recruiting or in charge of it, make sure you organize! Google sheets, Google Docs, excel….make sure you all needed information and film to that you can easily find when needed!

Players- When a college coach reaches out, be prepared to have a real conversation.
Know something about their program, ask good questions, and be able to explain what you're looking for in a school.
Recruiting is a two-way street. You're evaluating them just as much as they're evaluating you. @nresultsrecruit @AlamoCityHoops1
