I have read and heard Bonds wanted to swing like he was in a phone booth.
I notice the backside firing in unison, but his turn/rotation has direction because he hits through the ball with extension.
“You’d either get the funny, comic, sarcastic Murph, which was great. Or you’d get this really serious, really demanding, critical Murph.. But I’ve seen him change over the years. Just interacting…..I think his ego has been sort of softened a bit.”

Without the stress of a moving ball, just like a towel drill for pitchers without the stress of releasing a ball.

Before you swing hard, try this
Simple but 🔥 progression for hitters demonstrated by Georgia Southern Athlete Valerie Combs this week during break. Pop about 3-5 of each (or stick at one if needed until you feel it). It’s a great primer for full swing sessions.
• No-Legs Power V — heels down. Own direction first.
• No-Stride Power V — legs come in as low-end power. Direction still wins.
• No-Stride Pause Finishers — swing through, pause, then fake the finish.
• Shut-Down Finishers — intent is violent to contact, then shut it down and let it finish naturally.
• Stride to Power V — start setting up your game. Think pre-swing moves.
• Stride to Pause Finish — blend timing + control.
• Full Swings — let ’em rip. Different fields on command.
If this helps one hitter, it did its job.

IMO—Too many hitters finish extension “drills”by pointing at the sky—looks cool, but it’s missing the point.
Extension isn’t about going up, it’s about staying through.
Real power = staying below the head (chest to belly button, pitch depending).
Stay connected. Stay through.

Knob slid in. Path set up. Direction.
Replying to @danjaques96
My explanation doesn’t do it justice. Be here’s that range hitters go through setting up the release of the barrel. Hope this explains it better than I did
“Knob Slide.” Hand path.
If @TheJudge44 continues with his swing change from last night (no barrel drop & more knob slide), his consistency will go through the roof! If this hand path becomes permanent, the sky is the limit! Hat's off to you Mr. @TheJudge44 for making the adjustment. #gameofadjustments
No one has been more consistent on the pivot over the years than, @mamedina8.
Helps flatten barrel and get barrel to ball.
The feel is letting the hand open the shoulder ..... getting that knob to your front hip, then pivot #feel
As Latta said, “Spinning is not rotation.”
Hitters want the body’s turn and the hands/arms in sync. No hitter should want one to dominate the other, although by feel, different hitters have different thoughts.
Spinning off is not rotation.
This from @StanceDoctor, too. Read this and watch this. Good stuff.
“IT’S WHAT YOU DO WITH WHAT WE DO!!”
⚾️ Not every lesson needs to be about taking more swings.
👇 In this lesson, the hitter came in trying so hard to “stay closed” that he actually got weak to the baseball. That’s a common mistake.
🎥 One thing I encourage my hitters to do is record short recap videos after lessons. I don’t always make one for every player, but leaving with a quick explanation of what we worked on gives them something to review instead of guessing during the week.
➡️ “Stay closed” isn’t the goal.
💥 The goal is controlling the hands, creating direction through the baseball, and delivering the barrel with intent. If you’re so focused on staying closed that you lose freedom and direction, you’re making the swing harder than it needs to be.
📱 Video your lessons. Watch them often. Sometimes the most valuable rep you’ll get all week isn’t another swing—it’s reminding yourself exactly what you were trying to feel.
🎯 Train with an expert. Not an influencer.
