Get your academic performance & attitude right if you want to play college basketball!

UNC basketball player Isaiah Denis recently shared that when he wasn’t getting much playing time last year, he started treating practices like his games.
He couldn’t control his minutes, but he could choose how he used the opportunity in front of him. Every practice gave him a chance to compete, improve, and prepare.
It’s easy to get so focused on the opportunity we want that we overlook the one we have. But how you approach today can help or hurt your preparation for tomorrow.
Are you using this moment to become more ready for the next one? #TheConfidentAthlete
Awesome having @patriotsmbb for practice this morning. High energy on an early Saturday morning!
Good luck to @DallasMeinders and company!

Coaches: Your career will be defined by more than how you handle success.
You will lose games.
Miss out on jobs.
Have players leave.
Get criticized.
Make mistakes.
Have things happen that aren't fair.
People notice how you respond.
Don't let one difficult moment create a reputation that follows you longer than the moment itself.
Accountability is at an all time low. Entitlement is at an all time high.
Working hard separates kids nowadays. It used to be the price of admission.

In my opinion, High School Basketball rules need to change if you want to see more kids stay home and not go prep.
1) The best players need more gym access with unlimited contact days.
2) The rule where HS Coaches can’t coach their players in AAU needs to be abolished.
Very excited about 26-27 and the staff that has came together! Coach Ian has been with me from the start and excited to add Parkview alum and one of the best to come out of Springfield Tyem Freeman! GO VIKINGS! @TyemFreeman @Ian_C67
This is what is wrong with basketball. Starts in high school and trickles over to college.
All about kids getting better opportunities especially financial opportunities….but at some point it gets absurd.
First round exit for the Huskies this year @Coach_Vazz 👀
Or NIT appearance……
Excited to work with my guy @Coach_Daniels15 and watch the Vikings on Friday nights this fall! Let’s go!
At 6-foot-5, @ParkviewVikings’ new head coach Derek Daniels (@Coach_Daniels15) looks the part, but most of his athletic background is on the hardwood.
Find out how he became the leader of Vikings football and what he hopes to accomplish in year 1. ⬇️

“Guys that are moody”
Players should take a minute to listen to this!!!
Ben McCollum won 4 national titles at Northwest Missouri State.
His biggest lesson came before any of them.
Day one, first practice, he walks in and thinks:
"This is what first place feels like."
Not on the scoreboard. In the room.
First-place people work hard — but it's more than that. There's an edge.
And there's energy.
The guys who didn't make it weren't bad kids. They were just moody. Flat. They took life out of the building.
Culture isn't built by talent.
It's built by people who bring work, edge, and energy every day.
First-place people don't just perform.
They raise the room.
