Dear young athletes- keep this photo saved to your phone and show the next person who says you have to focus on one sport in HS.
The amount of kids I’ve heard say “I can’t risk getting hurt” or “my coach won’t let me” drives me crazy.
You get one shot to be a HS athlete.

Ever notice how the loudest critic is never in the huddle?
They’re in the stands.
Or behind a screen.
Or in the hallway after the game.
They don’t hear the teaching.
They don’t see the work.
Trust is built in the huddle.
Focus on the voices that are there.

PSA:
It's not your parent’s fault.
It's not your teacher's fault.
It's not the official's fault.
It's not your teammate's fault.
It's not your coach's fault.
It’s not your boss’s fault.
It's not “their” fault at all…
Own your successes AND your failures!

The same coaches people talk crazy about.
Pick up and drop kids off with cars in the yard.
Feed these kids.
Check their grades and talk to teachers.
Hug them when things are bad at home.
Work weekends trying to make your kids successful.
Miss their own kids events.
Are responsible for being in class teaching kids with little to no home training.
Send film to college coaches even though the kid is average.
They LOVE your kids win or lose.
