“Full disclosure that was a little petty but they’ve taken plenty of shots at us. In the off-season, there was some shots taken and somebody asked me what matters most and I said winning. And that’s where I like to go point back to is when we get the opportunity to go play them we’ve won” -Dan Lanning

"If you're interested in winning football games, you're from this area, you should go to Oregon. You want to go to a Chris Brown concert, you should go here.” Dan Lanning letting all his thoughts out tonight

Truth! It’s an under appreciated gig and not many programs prioritize developing it, but it pays dividends.

This is why every HS football team needs a recruiting/personnel coordinator—someone to navigate the recruiting process for the kids. Coaches are too busy to focus on every kid. This isn't a knock on what Rivals is doing. Every kid's situation is different; it could help some but be unnecessary for others.

Waste of money. We don’t recruit based on rivals rankings.

Rivals is charging high school athletes and parents $499 for an 'evaluation' by a Rivals scout. The fee includes a scouting report, grade, film evaluation, coach interview, and consideration to be ranked on their site.

I coached 🏀 at a small school and can attest lack of depth is a huge disadvantage when playing a much larger school in the playoffs. This disadvantage is magnified for 🏈 in such a league. Even the best small schools will be physically beat up come playoffs. Numbers matter.
