The amusement industry has lost one of its most respected leaders. Richard “Dick” Knoebel, President Emeritus of Knoebels Amusement Resort, has passed away. For decades, Dick helped shape not only Knoebels, but the family-owned amusement park industry as a whole. His dedication, leadership and passion for creating unforgettable guest experiences left an impact that will continue for generations. Our thoughts are with the Knoebel family, the entire Knoebels team and everyone whose lives he touched. @Knoebels shared the following statement:

The attraction’s final day of operation will be Aug. 16, 2026, as Universal continues preparing for the arrival of Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift, set to open in 2027. @UniversalORL has not provided a reason for moving the attraction’s closure up to August. While some fans have speculated the earlier closure could be related to Halloween Horror Nights operations or to accelerate work on the park’s future expansion, the company has not confirmed those reports. #universal #orlando @TheFastSaga *photo courtesy nbc/universal
