This was one of the most transparent answers we've received from a player...
Justin Cryer spoke about the miscues defensively and put the accountability on the players, not the coaches
"Coach Sark can't make a throw, coach Banks can't make a punt, coach Nansen can't tackle for me. We have to all do our job and we have to own our performances that we're going out there and putting out...They've put us in the best position to go out there and do it, as players we have to do a better job"

Tom Brady says his career turned around when a sports psychologist told him to stop complaining about what he wasn’t getting and start stewarding what he had the right way
“Greg said to me, ‘Why don’t you quit bitching about all the things you’re not getting, and how about you do the best with whatever opportunities you get?’, ‘Stop worrying about what the other quarterback’s getting. Stop worrying about what the coach is saying to you.’”
“‘Every time you get in there, you bring the juice. You bring the energy. You bring the enthusiasm. You treat practice like a game.’ Because if you just decide to go out there and you’re blaming everybody else, where does that get you? So I started to change my attitude.”
“I didn’t have a lot of confidence in myself. And when you don’t have a lot of confidence in yourself, you blame other people. When you gain confidence in yourself, you start pointing the finger at yourself.”
“I would encourage every athlete to look in the mirror after every day of practice or a game and say, ‘What can I do better to help the team? What can I do better?’”
“Not, ‘What does the coach need to do better?’ Not, ‘What do my teammates need to do better?’, ‘What do I need to do better?’ If every player does that, you’re going to have an incredible team.”
“You can’t have a false confidence. You don’t only gain your confidence because of your physical ability. You gain your confidence because you’re prepared, because you’re competitive. I couldn’t just show up and be better than everybody.”
“I had to show up prepared. I had to show up with energy. I had to show up with my body feeling right. I had to show up like I was on a mission.”

Texas freshman Sam Cozart on his role going forward as a team leader: "The University of Texas is built on culture, it's a winning tradition. My job is to make sure that there's no timid or weak players in our program and if there is, either make them stronger or get them out."

If Tech actually wanted to beef up their non-conference schedule I’m sure there are P4 teams who would oblige. But they’d rather score PR points by making Texas (who already plays one of the hardest schedules in the country) tell them no. All because Sark hurt their feelings.
NEW: Texas Tech's Joey McGuire said he's called Abilene Christian and Texas State in efforts to schedule Texas after Steve Sarkisian's recent comments🔥
"We would love to play the University of Texas in Week one."

Full quote from #Texas Baseball head coach Jim Schlossnagle on two-sport athlete Jonah Williams:
“Jonah’s surgery went great. He definitely needed it. We did get a chance to talk to him, his parents and the doctor. There’s no question. Once they got in there, he’s like, ‘yeah, there’s no chance that he was able to survive through a season and be ready for football, much less play baseball.’ So that’s good. I’m glad Jonah’s getting some clarity. He, coach Sarkisian and I have spoken, and he can now go really all in. I encouraged him to go all in on being a great teammate in football, learning the defense, you know, just being over there all the time, and then he’s more than welcome, obviously, and I want him in our dugout during the games, but he doesn’t need to be in our practices or do anything like that.”
“He’s still a two-sport athlete,” Schlossnagle confirmed. “100% supportive of him being a baseball player next January. I’m obviously super supportive of him being a football player. And I know, I know it’s easy as a fan, if you’re just a football fan and you want this guy, he just needs to play football. Or if you’re just a baseball fan, he just needs to play baseball. The reason he’s at Texas is because we told him he could be a two-sport athlete, and when I was at A&M we told him the same thing. So did LSU, Ohio State.”
“This is a unique one, like this guy’s really good. I don’t know what kind of football player he is. I know what kind of baseball player he can be. So everybody needs to get off his back. This guy loves Texas. He loves football and he loves baseball, and he’s all in on his teammates. He needs to do a better job of himself for getting prepared for each sport, and he’s learning that as a young amateur player, but we need to be more supportive of him in this critical time,” Schlossnagle said.

Telling stuff from Baylor coach Mitch Thompson on Texas' pitching staff, via @MichaelHaag_:
"I'm going to give them a heck of a compliment, because I've been watching Texas baseball for 30 years. I think that's the best Texas pitching staff I've ever seen. Now, were we great tonight? Not even close. And we could be better, and we're going to work at being better. But those guys don't give you much room to breathe."

Ruger Riojas has the Top 2 best flow/mustache combos in college baseball and he ain’t #2.
Learn from it. It doesn’t have to(nor should it) crush you, but it should sting.
Tom Brady on feeling the PAIN of LOSSES:
absolutely loved how Brady shared his experience here 🔥
“I always felt like you should sit with that pain. The flight home should be painful. It should be disappointing. You shouldn’t try to escape it. You shouldn’t make excuses for it. You need to feel it… and then you need to have some actionable items to GO DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT.
I think naturally the human nature part about all of us is to say ‘oh it’s just one game or one season’ and make excuses. And then when you live in those excuses, you don’t live in the solutions. And those solutions are to get back to work, let’s care more, have more discipline & better practice habits.”

Texas has more wins against ranked opponents than any school IN THE COUNTRY since joining the SEC.
The FALLACY that the Longhorns haven’t played anyone MUST end.
This team would have gone DEEP in the College Football Playoff.
Arch Manning still has room to grow, but 2026 Heisman candidacy is 100% warranted next year. Growth from game 1 to 13 has been impressive. #hookem #texasfootball
