For those unaware, these adorable little fellas are nurse sharks which are basically sea puppies. They are effectively harmless to humans and regularly swim alongside them and enjoy getting pets and scratches. Precious angels of the sea~

Today is #sharkawarenessday. Sharks are essential for biodiversity. Here’s how: 🦈 They regulate fish populations 🐟 They prevent prey species from overgrazing habitats 🌿 They protect coral reefs and seagrass beds 🌊 They keep marine food webs in balance #ForCoral

Remoras get food, protection, and a free ride from sharks while keeping them clean of parasites and scraps. Unlike remoras, pilot fish swim alongside sharks but don't attach themselves. 🦈 By @chaos.auto

Latest extraction: over 16,000 kg (35,000 lbs) of plastic out of the ocean to be recycled into durable, sustainable products so it never re-enters the marine environment again.

There are too many nay-sayers out there who will try to discourage us. Don't listen & let their opinions drown our inner voices I remove hooks from sharks because I have the access & tools to improve their life Criticism often comes from those who are doing less 📸 Kewin Lorenzen

What do leatherback turtles, whale sharks, and tiger sharks have in common? They depend on a migratory pathway near the Galápagos Islands. And, as of recently, they're protected. That's something to celebrate. 🎉 #WorldOceansDay
