More kids need to fail. I shouldn’t have parents and admin blowing up my phone and email the last week of school asking about 15 kids and wondering how we can get that 36% up to a 60% in 4 days

"Sorry @ReggieBush, we can't offer you. You play in the fake wing T offense. We have to instead offer the kid that runs a 4.8 because he plays in the spread. A real offense"

Replying to @ToddEnglehart @WingOffNetwork
This one came to mind:
We’ve run single wing since 2007. Every one of my TB/FB’s (whoever threw it more) has signed a D scholarship Not all at QB, but all D 1. Here’s the list:

Lot of college coaches aren’t good football coaches just got to where they are because of who they know

Wing-T/power-oriented run game friends:
How do you deal with defenses who spill/wrong-arm kick out blocks? Do you call a different play to use the technique against them? Adjust your blocking (log vs. Kick out)? Both? Something else?

After the past two to three days of banter from spread and “dinosaur” coaches two words have surfaced over the past several days, and I decided to write a little bit on topic, I didn’t cover all the points I want to say so there might be a podcast or something in the future to discuss this later on.
But here’s a 🧵:
Player development depends more on the coach than the system in high school. Doesn’t matter if you run the wishbone or the air raid

A lot of high schools could win more games if they ran the flexbone, wing t, single wing, dead t, etc. IMHO, I think politics play too big of a role and community won’t support it.

Never thought winning and making memories with the boys was more important than attempting to get my undersized OL and skill players who can’t break a 5.0 get recruited
The quality of football has decreased astronomically since the spread became as popular as it is.
Everything from basic fundamentals to how kids view the game has just dropped off a cliff. Not to mention how entitled and selfish coaches and kids act today
